Analysis: MSNBC to lose the MS? Yeah…So?

Ignoring the not at all insignficant fact that Drudge’s batting average on breaking news is, shall we say, less than 100% reliable and taking the story at face value, there are some fundamental issues that changing the name of the network won’t solve. As I detailed here, here, and particularly here, MSNBC faces challenges and issues that have little to do with the name of the channel. You can change the name but the issues will still exist.
Update by BlogThat: NBC News Channel is already taken. It is NBC’s affiliate service. This isn’t the first time that this rumor has been floated. Each of the other times, nothing has come to pass. Expect the same from this.
