Hemmer out at American Morning?
FTVLive was first to report that Bill Hemmer is leaving American Morning and maybe CNN. The Washington Post had more on this story this morning. CNN wants to make him a White House correspondent but that apparently isn’t making Hemmer jump up and down with joy and he’s doing the proverbial “weighing my options” thing. He says that there’s been interest from “other outlets”. He also didn’t seem none too happy that this leaked out and he seemed to insinuate that CNN did it deliberately.

Also, FTVLive reported Miles O’Brien taking over for Hemmer on “AM”. This has not been confirmed by ANYONE.

Hemmer did a good job reporting from the field. But, he and Cafferty are not cut out for a morning show. They are not funny, and remind me of a truckload of nails on the highway. Obviously CNN thinks the same as me. Thats why they are moving him from the show. Cafferty might find his niche somewhere else.

I love Bill Hemmer and Jack Caferty. I did not realize this shake up was going on. I’m so bummed. American Morning… with Bill and Jack… is SOOOOO much better than the infotainment morning shows on the networks!

I am very sorry if in fact Hemmer and Cafferty are leaving American Morning. I am usually a solid morning watcher as I get redy for work each day . I have been waiting 2 weeks for Hemmer and Cafferty to reappear. I finally went to Google to track down what is going on. I can tell you I have not been a solid Americcan Morning watcher without these two personalities. The chemistry was good, the interaction was great. It was fun to watch, informative, and a good way to get “what’s going on the world.” BadDDDDDDD decision. Someone needs to go back to the drawing board and re-think this really dumb decision.

Bill hemmer is my favorite anchor in the morning. He is so gemtleman, polite, sharp and cute. And he really do a good job. I wait for almost two weeks for his return but finally I found he left the show after googling. I feel so sad and angry . I will never watch AM anymore, probably CNN as well. I think my alternation will be Christ Galius on FOX5 “Good Day New York.” But I really don’t like horrible Judy Appligate.

Who in the world would want to wake up listening to Miles OBrien or Soledad O Brien for that matter?I put up with them just so I could listen to Bill and Jack.Miles nor Soledad even come close to what we call Class.You can have them both for I will never again watch American Morning.The idiot that made this move should be fired out the door.Really hard to beleive someone at CNN could be so stupid.The sooner Miles and Soledad go down the drain will be great for all of us.Good luck to Jack and Bill in whatever they do. They deserved better.To Miles and Soledad I can only say - you deserve nothing and that is what I hope you get.

Klein’s killed off “Crossfire” and plans to do away with “Inside Politics”. Now he waters down A.M. by getting rid of Hemmer & Cafferty.Soledad O’Brien,is a nice girl but no journalist. Carol Costello is an idiot who can’t even read a teleprompter and Miles O’Brien is terminally boring. Without Hemmer & Cafferty I’m afraid its adios American Morning. Suggest we get rid of Klein, instead.

All I can say is, DUMB! DUMB! DUMB! Bill Hemmer was always an exceptional talent, a consummate professional, and really good to look at. I saw his light dim when Soledad OBrien joined CNN’s American Morning; mainly because she is such a weird TV personality, and Bill never seemed to mesh well with her on-screen antics (she was too touchy feely with Bill for such a highly visible and professional situation like that). I would have fired her instead. She really messed up the entire chemistry of the show. Jack was annoying at times, but his perpetual grumpiness became his trademark TV personality, and could be very endearing (kind of like an old grumpy uncle who complains about everything and everyone). Well, CNN has let much of the best and most fun personalities go. Miles OBrien is okay, but he’s more of a technical talent; not very warm at all. I will miss Bill Hemmer’s delivery of the news and his professionalism. And I think it’s safe to say that the my American Morning staple while getting ready for work is over. I can’t take FOX News, so it will have to be Imus on MSNBC (another grumpy fun person to listen to).

Miles O’Brien is like a bad immitation of Phil Hartman, and has absolutely no chemistry with anyone on the show. Bill brought class, intelligence, humor and drop dead georgeous looks to American Morning. He is a true professional and I can’t figure out what Klein is hoping to accopmlish. Does anyone know what Bill is doing? I certainly wish him the best. Mornings just aren’t the same.

Bill Hemmer had too much smarts for that show. The Harvard chipmonk Soledad prevails. They ran off Heidi the real deal and inexorably they are running off the rest of the CNN journalistic talent. Ted Turner must be turning over in his platinum-lined jacuzzi.

CNN made a BIG mistake in the way they handled Bill Hemmer leaving the show. CNN made it appear Bill was let go. Totally wrong. If CNN needed to let anyone go it should be Soledad. Soledad is the worst thing that happened to that morning team. Get rid of her and put in Carol. BRING BILL BACK until HE makes up HIS mind where he wants to go.

I did the same as many other people, googled Hemmer and Cafferty to find out what happened. I have been watching the line-up for a long time and to see such a change is mind-numbing. The dual O’Brien lineup is SO boring. I miss the myriad of personality that the old AM had. It was captivating and the news was delivered well. Soledad is so very insipid, and Miles is a joke, literally. I have no idea what morning show to watch anymore. I liked AM on CNN, and there really isn’t a good replacement. Infotainment shows (FOX, Today)represent the worst way to get your news in the morning and local shows show the same ol’ format. Geez, what to do…

Like many other people, I had to Google Hemmer and Cafferty to find out what happened to them. I simply hate the fact that they are gone! The two O’Briens that are left, are such a bore. Soledad with her silly little giggle and Miles with his whiny voice are not worthy material for AM. Too bad the talent had to leave and we’re left with this junk! Time to find an alternative for the mornings.

I am also another Bill and Jack fan that had to google them to find out what happened. I am terribly saddended at this news and will definitely start watching a different morning show. Bill was a delight to watch every morning and Jack, well, he always made me laugh. Big mistake and big disappointment!!!

I’m otta here!! From stimulating to excruiatingly boring. CNN has lost all credibility with me over the past couple of years. Hemmer and Cafferty were the only ones left that made it watchable.

Here’s another seeker Googling for Bill snd Jack. I miss them both. Was lovely, intelligent Heidi also eliminated? What ARE they thinking. Soledad is a negative for me; I watched for Hemmer, Cafferty and Collins. Sorry. Soledad is an annoying turnoff. So I’ve turned off the show.

I didn’t watch the news for a few days and all of a sudden my world has turned upside down. What happen to Jack Cafferty and Bill Hemmer? The show is not the same, the chemistry just isn’t there any more. Looks like I’ll go to the today show for my morning news. Jack was someone I enjoyed tremendously! HE said it like it was and generally had a pulse on what the people at large felt. Tragic to lose him!

I too kept waiting for Bill and Jack thinking they must be on vacation or on a “BIG” story. Hello Fox News goodbye to CNN. You really screwed up on this one! Jack Cafferty & Bill Hemmer MADE the morning at CNN. I’ve got nothing against Miles but Soledad O’Brien sounds like a goldfish with a mouth full of marbles & can’t read two consecutive sentences with flubbing her lines. CNN’s got plenty of other female journalists who are infinitely better orators than Ms. Obrien. AM’s now just another hum drum boring morning show with nothing to set it apart.

I just found out about Bill and Jack. I thought they were on vacation, but it was lasting too long so I Googled to find out what happened. To my surprise they are no longer at CNN. I’m really sorry and displeased. Miles cannot fill the shoes of Bill nor can “what’s her name” fill the shoes of Soledad. I was a regular watcher of CNN, but I guess I’ll have to find some place else to get my news. I hope Soledad has not been replaced permenently.

Are you people insane! I was waiting to wake up one morning to find that whole crew putting on a “morning news show themed” musical! Hemmer is talentless, and Caferty, while being an amusing diversion, just got in the way of what I would like to hear in the morning; NEWS! The new crew seems to be more interested in filling their time up with what is actually going on in world, as opposed to “looking good”, or being “entertaining”. The majority of you should start your day with a morning regimen of watching TV Land, or reading People.

I enjoy Hemmer. The show was cool,easy to wake up too without all the bullshit of Today,GMA and Early. I like Miles have for years, but he is not an early anchor guy. He is a road warrior. This has to be one of the dumbest decisions ever. I dont watch American Morning anymore.Bill Hemmer was one of the few anchors who didnt inject his personal opinions into a story…a true journalist. Jack Cafferty was refreshingly candid. The people in charge at Cnn are out of their minds.

Costello, Hemmer and Cafferty should have gone to FOX as a morning team to re-create FOX-AM. They would have buried CNN within a few days, and Soledad would be lucky to get a job running an elevator at the Empire State Building. Miles is only good on launch day broadcasting from the viewing stands for the shuttle launches. But since the shuttle is grounded for now, so should Miles.

Took me weeks to figure out Bill Hemmer was gone and boy, was I bummed. He was my favorite CNN anchor. I’ve never warmed up to Soledad and would’ve preferred to see Hemmer back with Daryn Kagan, or with Heidi. Loved Jack Cafferty and I thought his candor and Bill Hemmer’s gentlemanly-ness offset each other wonderfully. Hardly watch Amer. Morning anymore since they left. I like Miles O’Brien, but the chemistry now just doesn’t feel right. Liked the show of a month ago 100% more. Too bad. Think CNN blew it again…. first got rid of Tucker Carlson, now Bill and Jack.:(

It is simple—–CNN cant figure out why they are slipping daily in the ratings and why FOX is climbing daily. So what do they do? Throw everything out, and expect us to instantly re-like the “new” CNN. The CNN model was thrown out the window when Ted Turner moved on. Talk about a shame. Ever noticed when some big breaking story is happening )that FOX is running full tilt), CNN is doing some financial show talking about Microsoft stock value?

Bill & Jack - my mornings will never be the same. You will both be missed. What an interesting world when you have to Google to find out what is going on. It did seem like the longest vacation ever but then again their names were never mentioned. Bad move CNN - why not just handle it like adults? I just cannot find myself to put up with the O’Brien team so I am off to find another channel to watch. I may switch back from time to time just to see what the next ridiculous move will be.

I miss Jack. He presented a viewpoint that is not mainstream and I found myself agreeing with much of what he had to say. I miss Bill too. He and Soledad worked well together. Now she seems to struggle to work with Miles O’Brien. The more I watch him, the more I get used to him..but he is not as interesting or as much fun to watch and I find him abrupt. I too had to google to find out what was going on. The whole chemistry of the show is different, it is flat and I don’t look forward to watch the news and personalities delivering it like I used to.

Notice how the new morning show feels “weird”. Notice how the anchors are to “polite” to each other to make us all feel everything is fine. Boy would I love to hear Carol Costello’s or Soledad’s first words out of their mouths when they learned of this joke of a move. GUARANTEED NEXT STOP BY CNN: they will revamp the whole 6 AM to 10 AM slot and start again from scratch when they realize nobody is watching. I was very disappointed in CNN for not being up front with the news of Bill and Jack. The chemistry will never be the same and I will probably start watching “Situation Room” to catch Jack and I’ll be looking for Bill Hemmer and wish them the best. Fox News will gain one more viewer CNN will have one less every morning.

I believe it was a mistake to kick out Bill Hemmer. He is great and the show is just not the same without him. I was wondering what happenned to him until I came to realize he had left, I am sure he will have a great future, but American Morning will never be the same. I don’t like the chemistry between Soledad and Miles… it’s just not the same. CNN has to re-evaluate its programming and find out what other strategy should be taken… this one is not working.. they should get back Bill and everything will be better.

I was a consistent morning watcher with Bill and Jack. Now that thy are gone, very seldom so I watch. I loved both of them. Miles and Soledad just don’t have the same chemistry. Big, big, big mistake. I’ll tune in elsewhere from now on. I would like to know where Bill will land and same with Cafferty. I’ll tune in to that station.

I, too, was sad to hear of Bill and Jack walking out the door. I think that Heidi would’ve made an excellent choice to co-host with Bill in the mornings. I like Miles, but loved Bill. So sad…but I STILL refuse to watch the network’s ‘entertainment’ shows.

My morning started with Bill and Jack. It took me a long time to figure out they were not on an extended vacation. No more CNN. I will now watch morning news with Fox and Friends. Brian, Steve, and E.D.Hill have won me over!
