Shuttle coverage numbers…
Here’s a breakdown of numbers (courtesy of FOX News) in the peak period of Shuttle coverage yesterday from 12:30-2 pm. The scrub announcement came at the bottom half of the 1 pm hour…
The numbers are broken down as follows. The first set is the Total Number. The second set is the P 25-54 demo. The third set is the P 18-49 Demo
FNC — 913,000\295,000\277,000
CNN — 336,000\105,000\76,000
MSNBC — 188,000\87,000\79,000
FOX stayed on top of course but the interesting number is MSNBC. They performed under their total day average (194,000) during this time period. Part of the dip might be attibuted to the fact that this sample period overlapped a half hour of Connected: Coast To Coast which is usually the lowest rated program on MSNBC daytime by a wide margain.
UPDATE: ICN wanted to see what happened in the subsequent hours after the scrub notice went out when there was all kinds of talk about technical glitches and the NASA news conference on the subject. Here are the numbers for 2-4pm. The same breakdown that was used above applies here…
FNC — 997,000 (258,000 IN 25-54, 238,000 IN 18-49)
CNN — 438,000 (82,000 IN 25-54, 51,000 IN 18-49)
MSNBC — 197,000 (53,000 IN 25-54, 53,000 IN 18-49)

Once again, the worst coveage gets the best #’s. When will the viewers of focks DEMAND better coverage from KNOWLEDGABLE JOURNALISTS?

More likely, the least biased gets the best numbers, Sam I am. Not that there’s anything biased about a shuttle launch. It’s just that as long as CNN and PMSNBC shill for Dems, no one will watch. I wonder if they’ll ever learn that lesson.

So, they should play to the repubs just to get viewers LIKE FOCKS does? I think everyone pretty much knows it’s politics that drives what channel someone watches.

FNC must have thought the clogged fuel sensors was a form of terrorism.

Couldn’t agree more ravi. FNC and particularly Shep Smith did a fantastic job on coverage. I really hope the shuttle takes off soon though, it should be exciting.
