Sunday’s Ratings…

Here are the ratings for Sunday. FOX dominated doubling CNN in Total Day and tripling it in Primetime with At Large and Big Story Weekend turning in weeknight level numbers. MSNBC’s excellent Astronaut special, which again had no TV advertising until Friday, didn’t do much and couldn’t beat canned HLN broadcasting which averaged 250,000 viewers. More people tuned in for the Meet The Press repeat. Advertising MSNBC…advertising. MSNBC’s Hardball “Boots On The Ground” encore didn’t do any better than the first broadcast which makes ICN wonder if MSNBC has a military “credibility gap”. Though it did have to go up against FOX’s War Stories.

  1. Julie Banderas hosted this weeks’ Big Story Weekend. She’s only anchored a few weekends before in her short FNC career. If Bill Hemmer doesn’t get the BSW post, I wonder if they’ll give it to Julie?

Either Julie Banderas or Jamie Colby would make great pernament anchors, IMHO.

  2. That number is double any number I ever remember Rita Cosby getting when she anchored Big Story Weekend. Looks like Cosby (and her antics) won’t be missed much at fox!

  3. I like Jamie Colby. Julie Bandares has shown she is nothing more than a pretty face. Her Shiavo and Aruba coverage were terrible.

  4. Well CNN Sunday Night had on the gay people piece… When will CNN learn that people want to know whats happening NOW and that they don’t care about gays or “special reports”?

  5. Finally someone agrees with me that Julie B. is little more than a news reader.
When in the world is Bill H. going to start??

  6. I read Hemmer will start late August. Also that he’ll be on weekdays, my guess is he’ll take or share time with Martha (2pm). I would like to see Alisyn Camerota, Jane Skinner get more time. Martha is unwatchable for me.

  7. Thanks for the information on Bill. Maybe he will take a morning slot. Jon Scott is so strong and believable, but later in the mornings Fox seems to deteriorate somewhat.

  8. Bill Hemmer was intelligent, sharp and had a great sense of humor. He and Cafferty were great together and so wasn’t Solidad. CNN made a big mistake. Miles O’Brien is dull with no charisma. Big mistake to let Bill and Jack Cafferty go. It made the news in the morning something worth waking up to!!!!
