Air France Crash numbers…
Here are the numbers from the peak period (4-6 pm) of the Toronto Air France crash coverage…
FNC - 1,014,000 viewers and 301,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo
CNN - 735,000 viewers and 270,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo
MSNBC - 249,000 viewers and 97,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo

FNC had over a million viewers YET its demo #’s were quite low than what they should be with an audience over a million. CNN had just over 700,000 BUT its demo #’s were good when compared to its total #’s.

ALSO wonder WHY fnc didn’t release any hourlie #’s? Did viewers migrat elsewhere when they started talking politics and didn’t stick with plane crash coverage?

I don’t have an answer but I doubt it. Special Report continually breaks the 1,000,000 mark and CNN wasn’t even close to that number so I don’t see how breaking the story down by hours will change that outcome any.

It goes to show that you can put anything on FOX and people are dumb enough to watch it. You won’t catch Hume on my TV.

What a unique commentary by the last anonymous…judging FNC viewers. I wish there was a way you could say that to all of them at once…just walk up and call them all stupid.
Fact is, millions of people watch FNC. It’s past the “gimmick” and “fad” stage. I think there’s a better reason at this point. So get off your soapbox…people like FNC. Deal with it and MoveOn.

I agree about that Thebiz. People just need to realize that FNC is so dominant because they provide superior coverage to the other nets. Others are just jealous.

Fnc is so dominant becuase they r a right wing net. in a middle of the road busness. If say msnbc was the only liberal sided network, they would have Fnc’s #’s -plain and simple.

CNN might get horrible ratings but their anchors have more street cred than all of FNC’s anchors and reporters put together.

They have more street cred? Perhaps. I haven’t thought about it. But, I did notice Mr. Novak give “The Most Trusted Name in News” a big black eye yesterday.
