Another Holloway Opinion Piece…

The Wilmington News-Journal simultaneously praises Bob Costas for his self-restraint in not doing a Natalee Holloway show for CNN while criticizing Greta Van Susteren for being all over it…. (via TVNewser)

Meet Bob Costas, media dissenter.

Mr. Costas, best known for announcing sports games, did something unthinkable for a broadcaster these days. He acted on principle.

Bravo.

Miss Holloway’s disappearance is a terrible thing, especially for her family and friends. Unfortunately, this being a slow-news summer and cable TV networks being what they are, her disappearance was ripe for exploitation.

The main exploiter is Greta Van Susteren on Fox News. She has been floundering about for a topic since Laci Peterson’s murderous husband was convicted and put away.

  1. You take what you can get in this biz and run with it. Costas knew what he was getting into when he signed on to host LKL. To sit there and complain about it is unprofessional. I would love to host LKL even if it was BTK or Natalee Holloway.

  2. Once again a big headed moron, who feels superior. CNN is stupid for not taking serious action against this idiot. No one should be suprised, we all remember Aaron Brown refusing to return to cover the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. They should be fired! Time Warner does not have the balls to do it! CNN’s loss is FOX’s gain!

  3. KUDOS to Costas! The Holloway story is NOT a story at this point. Why keep the dust stirred up? Nothing new to report why waste everyone’s time with such non-news crap as that?!? Oh..forgot it’s all for ratings….it’s called the foxification of journalism. It’s not suppose to be informative JUST entertaining…..thanks alot.

  4. The new CNN president hasn’t had a very good year, has he?

  5. He sure hasn’t had a good year. I wonder if any of the former CNN presidents are around to step in and try to stop some of the damage that’s been done this year.
