A relative’s desperate appeal….
A dramatic event just transpired on CNN. Rick Sanchez was speaking on the phone with Cathleen Whitelow Tweety of Charlotte, North Carolina. She made a desperate appeal out on television to call attention to the plight of her relatives who are stuck in New Orleans. Tweety said that she had sporadically communicated with her nephew and that they were stuck on the roof in New Orleans and that he had seen flashlights in the distance which might have indicated a search and rescue team’s presence. Tweety also mentioned that her nephew said that many people in the neighborhood were stuck in their homes. One woman was apparently hanging in a tree. Sanchez said that CNN had passed on the address to the local authorities.

CNN shouldn’t be in the 911 business. If that relative has a problem, he or she needs to get in touch with the real authorities and CNN should be ashamed of themselves for getting involved. The authorities don’t need news organizations calling them up and doing that when infact they have people already out trying to get people off their roofs. Does CNN really think that they’re going to just drop everything and go find one person?

CNN needs to give people something to write about since their ratings and coverage isn’t going to do it so they do things like this.

Isn’t Rick Sanchez the guy at CNN who allowed himself to be shot at with a taser gun on live television? Talk about a publicity stunt. This seems to not be as bad, but certainly falls into the same category. Look at us, we’re helping the people!
