Monday’s Numbers…

Things looked a lot more like what we’ve seen over the past couple of years. MSNBC was down badly from Katrina levels…its primetime lineup had only one show over 400,000 and it was Countdown. CNN and FNC were down as well though not as badly from a percentage standpoint. Anderson Cooper and Paula Zahn continue to show resilience while Newsnight started to fizzle at the 11 pm hour. Was Greta off yesterday? That number is low for her program given its recent history going back the past few months.

  1. Ouch for MSNBC…looks like ratings are finally gonna settle down again (emphasis on DOWN).

  2. That’s funny, what I see is CNN quickly falling down, hard, while Fox is back to more than doubling them in Prime Time.

  3. Starting to fizzle? Aaron Brown on CNN is below a million viewers, that’s more than starting to fizzle, that’s burnt, baby. He’s done.

  4. Gene, what do u mean, CNN is not falling that much, 360 and now are still doing really well

  5. Greta was on. I didn’t watch it because the teaser was that Beth Twitty was on the show.

  6. If Klein and all the people who “only” watch CNN would have a brainstorming session perhaps things could get better. Klein worries too much about what the other networks are doing. All the while touting “the most trusted name in news”. Instead of acting like the captain of the ship, he needs to become one! Boot the neverhasbeens off the network, pay them to stay home until contracts run out. Put some 25-40 year olds in the lineup! The ratings couldn’t get much worse since there are some people that actually can deal with that crap. I do watch some CNN but, I prefer HLN.

  7. How pathetic is CNN? OR’s rerun beats any of their primetime lineup. Now we just have to wait for 360 and Zahn’s numbers to be cut in half. LOL

  8. Hmm..what’s sorry are fnc demo #’s. To have so many P2+ numbers their demo #’s suck. And ah….FNC and greta are back doing ‘real news’ huh? Didn’t take them long to get back the no news story of natalee holloway.

  9. Fox’s prime time demo almost beats CNN’s total day viewers. That’s not sucky. That’s very impressive.

  10. CNN is sliding back to their normal position in the world of cable news, right back to the cellar.

  11. It is inevitable that Greta’s numbers would drop. She has gone back to ambulance chasing, looking for missing young people and grieving mothers. It is disgusting, and her shrill voice is so offensive.
I am basically a Fox Fan, but can appreciate good reporting on the other news channels. I don’t see this as a contest, but rather a search for the best news and political discourse.

  12. Crappy News Network heads back to the cellar where they belong. I’m with everyone else on Greta - I don’t like her show, can’t watch her show. I wish Fox would put someone else on in her slot.
