O’Reilly/Clark dust up….

Crooks & Liars thinks Bill O’Reilly might need to brush up on his World War 2 history. Actually they think worse than that and I’m being generous with my summary…

In his debate last night with Wesley Clark, Bill said this to prove his point:

Radar on Rosen/Rice interview…

Radar Online reports on an odd exchange during an interview with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and FNC’s James Rosen (via FTVLive)….

…the blog world is abuzz this week after a recent interview in which Fox correspondent James Rosen lobbied the defiantly single Secretary of State on the charms of a comely female colleague.

The odd interchange aired last Tuesday, when Rice sat down with Rosen for an interview in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Rosen opened the conversation with a few softball questions about President Aristide and Iran’s nuclear ambitions. But he closed it with an impassioned testimonial on behalf of Fox & Friends anchor Lauren Green, a thirtysomething former Miss Minnesota who’s apparently a big fan of the Secretary’s.

Dobbs lands Miller….

In a bit of a surprise, at least to me, CNN announced this afternoon that Lou Dobbs landed the first post jail broadcast nterview with Judith Miller on this evening’s Lou Dobbs Tonight…

In this exclusive interview, Miller will discuss her decision to testify before a federal grand jury in the investigation of the CIA leak exposing the identity of agent Valerie Plame.

This is a pretty big get for Dobbs show. I’d love to know how his bookers finessed this one…

The furious bidding - which has involved Hyperion, HarperCollins and Rodale Press, among others - hit $1 million last week, and I hear that Cooper’s agent, Luke Janklow, is getting close to crossing t’s and dotting i’s with a generous publisher.

Wolf Blitzer Interview….

Wolf BlitzerThe Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Patricia Sheridan has an interview with The Situation Room’s Wolf Blitzer…(via a tipster)

How do you respond to the accusation that the 24-hour news stations thrive on disasters and war?

I think what we try to do is bring the news to our viewers in a very comprehensive responsible way. I was interviewing Ted Turner, who created 24-hour news, just the other day. People thought he was nuts. They called it the Chicken Noodle Network, you know. People want to be able to watch the news whenever they can.

My egg timer broke…

waiting for FNC reaction to the Shuster piece. Reaction finally came at 7:59 pm to FTVLive. Out of respect for FTVLive as a pay site, I’m not going to cut and paste FNC’s reaction other than to say that FNC says he didn’t leave on his own, he was asked to leave.

TVNewser dug up some old Shuster quotes on his reason for leaving FNC…

Where’s “Your World Today”?

So wonders Harry Shearer….

We’re living in the bubble again. CNN’s little experiment with opening up one daily hour of its day to the very different coverage of its international channel, titled “Your World Today,” seems to have been yet another victim of Hurricane Katrina. On the heels of the entirely understandable pre-emption of the program during the height of the disaster, it has failed to return to the schedule, and no announcement of its cancellation has surfaced, at least to the eyes of this Googler.

Maybe the comparison of the measured, reasonable, non-frantic output of CNNI with what the domestic side grinds out these days was just too painful. Or embarrassing.
