Wall Street Journal coming to FNC?
FTVLive is reporting that the Journal Editorial Report program, currently running on PBS, may be moving to FNC.
UPDATE: FNC issued a release announcing the move…
The Journal Editorial Report, a production of The Wall Street Journal, will move to Fox News Channel (FNC) beginning in January, announced Bill Shine, senior vice president of programming, Fox News.
In making the announcement, Shine said, “We’re pleased to partner with The Wall Street Journal on this highly regarded program and we look forward to delivering our viewers another quality program on the number one cable news network.”The Journal Editorial Report was launched in September 2004 on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). Hosted by Wall Street Journal Editorial Page Editor Paul A. Gigot, the weekly half-hour program features members of the Journal editorial page staff, as well as other experts debating the major economic, political and cultural issues of the day. The program will make its final appearance on PBS on Friday, Dec. 2.

I hope they liven it up a bit.

Stuart Varney, now with FNC, used to moderate the show when it was on CNBC. I think he’s better at it than Paul Gigot is….

I wonder where they’ll put it. I can’t imagine them breaking up any of the current biz block shows…

O wow imagine that another commentary program. So much for more news huh?

It’ll go on Weekends some evening. I don’t think FNC would bust up its Business Block or it’s daytime programming on Weekends.

“Anonymous”, what is your problem (other than being unable to pick a screen alias)? If breaking news occurs, they’ll put it on. Otherwise, what’s wrong with another business program? Fox does it well already, so another show will probably be equally informative.

I’ve decided that it’ll go on Saturdays at 5:30 pm. That way, they can have business (WSJ), politics (Beltway Boys), and media (News Watch), all lined up in a row. And maybe a replay at 11 pm, or a replay at 5:30 pm on Sunday.
There, I feel better. :P

I’ve watched the program a few times when it was on CNBC and can sum it up in a word. BORING! If FNC was intent on importing a public affairs show from PBS, I’d rather see it import the McLaughlin Group.
