‘Tis the season…

With the Holidays, The Rocky Mountain News’ Dusty Saunders is in the giving mood

• Wolf Blitzer - A cot, a coffee pot and a miniature stove to help him survive his seemingly around-the- clock schedule on CNN.
……………….

• Keith Olbermann - A dose of humility and an uninterrupted TV debate with Bill O’Reilly.

• Bill O’Reilly - A double dose of humility and a Denver outlet for his national radio show.
………………..

• Alan Colmes - A feed-store gift certificate to supply his needs as Fox News’ straw man on Hannity and Colmes.

  1. Who is this loser, that he actually wants Bill O’Reilly to have a Denver outlet for his radio show? And Keith Olbermann, for all his supposed arrogance (for which he himself is the most prominent salesman), doesn’t need humility at all–he’s one of the few people on TV who HAS enough to recognize the absurdity of it all. As for wanting to give him an uninterrupted TV interview with O’Reilly, it will never happen, for two reasons: 1) Bill could never do it without interrupting and 2) Keith could not do it without ending up institutionalized from the futility of trying to talk to the guy.

  2. Dusty Saunders is the Keith Olbermann of TV critics - he’ll never matter.

    Comment by Craig — December 26, 2005 @ 6:45 pm

  3. I think he means that the debate between the two is uninterrupted and not that they don’t interrupt each other…

    Comment by Spud — December 26, 2005 @ 8:17 pm

  4. Ah, but Keith Olbermann does matter, or you wouldn’t waste your time replying to posts about him now would you there Craig?

    Comment by Mia2 — December 26, 2005 @ 9:05 pm

  5. Mia2, I mean Keith, you need to prepare for tomorrow’s program. Try to get more than 300,000 viewers, will ya?

  6. Ah, once again the Fox Fanclub resorts to that old fallback criticism when they can’t find anything else on which to attack Olbermann. “His ratings are so bad. Nobody watches him.” Oh, boo hoo. Find something else on which to attack him, will you? In the meantime, for a guy with such low ratings, he sure seems to upset a whole lot of people who “never” watch him.

And Spud, Keith wouldn’t be the one interrupting Bill. Keith doesn’t have a habit of interrupting and yelling over his guests like a blowhard idiot…which is one of the reasons I watch him. Nah, it would be Bill who would be doing all the interrupting.

  7. Oh, and by the way, folks? I’m not Keith. I doubt Mia2 is, either. Go explain that! Imagine! Keith doesn’t have to defend himself! Contrary to popular belief, there are actually a WHOLE TWO PEOPLE (at least) who watch his show! Which makes about two more than some people ever give him credit for. (For the record, I’m not his mother, either.)

  8. Two people watch his show? Bah! NOBODY watches his show. Keith’s bathroom mirror won’t even look back at him.

  9. So maybe the Dopeyman fans that post to this board (both of them) can give all of us a daily update about what the big D did on his show……Lets see if you two are really fans or just haters…………..

  10. My wish for 2006, no more Keith Olbermann. I can’t watch him, and I’d rather watch two hours of Rita Cosby instead, or Tucker Carlson at 8, which is saying a lot.

  11. “My wish for 2006, no more Keith Olbermann. I can’t watch him, and I’d rather watch two hours of Rita Cosby instead, or Tucker Carlson at 8, which is saying a lot.”

Amen - The guy is in for the publicity and is this month’s hot topic, people still aren’t watching him and folks will move on soon…I promise.

  12. I assure you, I’m not Keith Olbermann, I don’t know Keith Olbermann and have never met Keith Olbermann. I do watch the show though. He’s in it for the publicity? Oh, unlike the shy and retiring Big Giant Ego. . . I mean, O’Reilly? You people are so very amusing. No wonder you are forced to watch the likes of O’Reilly to get your marching orders. I defend him because I’m sicking all of you say you don’t care about him and then crawl all over him every single chance you get. If you truly didn’t care, you wouldn’t say a single word about him, but you can’t do that can you? Does it ever occur to you that Olbermann garners way more publicity and discussion on blogs like this one in comparison to the ratings which all of you are always so quick to point out? Sounds to me that Olbermann gets the last laugh. Oh, and I’d rethink your little nickname for Olbermann. The man’s IQ is in the outerstratosphere and not only did he graduate high school at age 16, he also went to Cornell. Check Bill’s bio. Trust me, a Rhodes scholar he ain’t. Although he probably does claim to be, since he’s so good at spinning his own bio.

  13. Wow, mia2…take a breath and lighten up….You forget that Dopeyman attacks Fox, i dont recall Fox ever initiating any attacks against the big ‘D’…..When D becomes more than a spec on the Fox horizon i am sure that he will garner more attention…Until that happens take a deep breath and say 5 times real quick “I luv me some Bill O’Reilly…..”

    Comment by JR — December 27, 2005 @ 7:05 pm

  14. Ooh, so what makes Olbermann “Dopeyman” is that he “attacks Fox”! Sounds more like the move of a genius than a dope to me! Fox attacks him all the time, and why? Because he doesn’t let their idiocies stand unchallenged, that’s why–and thank God for it! And nothing–NOTHING–will make his fans love Bill O’Reilly…there aren’t enough loofahs or falafels in the WORLD to make that happen! LOL!

Know what else cracks me up? This column mentions Wolf Blitzer and Alan Colmes too, but notice that nobody is talking about them. It’s all Bill and Keith, Bill and Keith, Bill and Keith. To me, that’s proof positive that Keith, the blessed Anti-Fox Gadfly, is getting under the skin of both Bill AND his fans but good. A fact for which I am eternally grateful…it’s high time somebody questioned their spew.

  15. Someone needs to read the ratings again. Countdown averaged more than 450,000 viewers in November.

  16. Tanne, read post #13 and BReeeeeatthhhhhh very deeply…..

    Comment by JR — December 27, 2005 @ 7:56 pm

  17. And of course tanne as Mr. Bill would say “you are critical of Fox but of course you offer NO examples of Fox attacking the big D…..”Grow up dude………….

  18. “Keith doesn’t have a habit of interrupting and yelling over his guests like a blowhard idiot”

He might more often if he had a guest on who disagreed with him once in a while instead of an amen chorus.

  19. Please,Dusty Saunders, give me a present - make Alan Colmes disappear!!!!!!! Get him off of that show. Thwap!

    Comment by Cara — December 28, 2005 @ 11:27 am

  20. I’m no fan of Alan Colmes but why does his name appear on a show that SHOULD be called “Hannity and Hannity…and Even More Hannity”?
