New Year’s Eve specials…
FNC and CNN will be battling over New Year’s Eve with both networks hosting live specials from 11pm to 1 am ET.
FNC will air “All American New Year’s 2006″ with Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy and featuring reports from around the country and recaps of stories from 2005. Guest appearances include country music artists Aaron Tippin and Phil Vassar, the latter of whom will perform.
(Update: there’s some question about whether only Vassar is performing or both are performing. The way it’s written on the FNC website it reads like only Vassar is. Read the comments for more…)
CNN will have Anderson Cooper anchoring its coverage. CNN will also be jumping around the country and feature live perfomances from the John Mayer Trio from San Francisco, Barenaked Ladies out of Tampa, American Idol winner Fantasia from The Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, “Godfather of Soul” James Brown from New York, country duo Brooks and Dunn from Nashville , and funk legends Kool and The Gang from Atlantic City.

Ummm… Spud, I think it is Aaron Tippin and Phil Vassar. ;-)

What’s with FNC and country music? Looks like CNN will have a variety to choose from.

!#@$!$%#@!
“Ummm… Spud, you made anothe rerror, I think they’re both performing. :( ”
This is what the FNC website says and I quote…
“Plus, we’ll be joined by country superstar Aaron Tippin.
And, we’ll get a live performance from Phil Vassar!”
Now maybe they are both performing but the way this is written it sure reads like only one (Vassar) is. It’s not my fault if FNC muddies the issue and I have to figure out what they really mean and I guess wrong…

Wow. FNC’s program sounds like a total snooze. Two no-names performing with Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy co-hosting. Count me OUT. At least CNN has people that people in their 20s can recognize. No wonder FNC only makes gains in the 55+ demo…
