Why on earth would Olbermann be scared of a tabloid news hound like Connie Chung? Ridiculous. Frankly, I myself would not want to work with her on my network, because I think that like Rita Cosby, she brings down the quality of the whole place, as does her husband, who is no different from Jerry Springer in my opinion. But the irony of all this is that for all the reasons KO might have to complain about some of the people on MSNBC, he refuses to take potshots at any of them. I think this is yet another case of the NY Post and Murdoch's henchmen looking for something, anything, to cut him down on--and if they can't find it, they'll make it up instead. And THAT is what's really "sad," Fox Fanclub--not Keith himself. It is "sad" how his detractors are always looking for some way to rip him down. Why are they so horribly afraid of this "ratings killer" that they have to do this? I do not know...

And Cecelia, contrary to what you say, he has no reputation whatsoever for misquoting people himself, or framing them. Quite the opposite--he calls them on EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID, with PROOF--which is more than is happening in this case!

And why bring the New York Times into this? They're not even involved! Talk about a red herring! This is the POST, not the Times! Typical Fox Fanclub enemy tactic, though--make it not about the credibility of their vehicles or "stars" but of someone else's...

Johnny Dollar does the same. I suppose Media Matters is never right, but NewsMax always is? Please.

I can't wait to see if KO comes back to this tonight after having been accused by his enemies of not having mentioned that Peyser said he was "loudly complaining about Bill O'Reilly's ratings." Sheesh. Didn't any of the Fox Fanclub watch him that very night, reciting laughingly his list of Fox shows that have been or should be canceled for low ratings? Doesn't sound like a guy who was "loudly complaining" earlier in the day to me. Nope, he was just having more fun with Fox, as usual.

See, this is what bothers you guys. It doesn't matter how low KO's ratings are. To you, somehow, he still represents a threat because he dares to say ANYTHING against your heroes. Therefore, he must be lied about and squashed like a bug. Or is that a cockroach???

Did you doubt for a minute, Becky...

Becky now knows that Peyser attributed a remark to Olbermann that another person in the room actually said....and she knows that Peyser also managed to misquote the misattributed remark....

And Becky knows this is true because Olbermann said so...

Becky now knows too that the "cockroach" remark...made by Olbermann's friend.... about Connie Chung...was actually a COMPLIMENT toward Chung's longevity in the field....

And Becky knows this is true because Olbermann said so...

So I'm glad that's all cleared up and Becky knows that though Olbermann WAS in the presence of Peyser... Though he WAS engaged in a conversation about Chung... All he was doing was listening to a friend graciously compliment Chung by comparing her to a tenacious intractable insect pest.

So Becky can now say that Peyser got it all wrong...Worst Person In The World... bad reporter... Murdoch shill... case closed... for Becky.

However, there is something Becky still doesn't know. Peyser also reported that Olbermann was loudly complaining about Bill O'Reilly's ratings. She doesn't know if Peyser also misattributed these remarks when they were really made by Olbermann's friend... and if Peyser also misquoted Olbermann's friend AGAIN when he was really complimenting O'Reilly on his ubiquitousness (sort of like cockroaches)... No, Becky doesn't know this.

Because Olbermann did not tell her....

In fact, Olbermann failed to mention that part of Peyser's remark entirely...

Becky awaits being told...

Peyser was tonight's WPITW because Olbermann actually did not make the statement about Connie Chung, he was responding to someone else's comment which was also misquoted. So at least we know she's definitely the worst reporter, if not worst person of the day!

"it would be a foregone conclusion that Olbermann would pass that info along promptly, via said enemy being named Worst Person In The World tonight."

That's assuming it was published on Media Matters.

I'll give Olbermann the benefit of the doubt that Peyser may be misquoting or taking him out of context or however John Gibson might define it and then lately be called a liar by Olbermann fans.... but I digress....

I'll give Olbermann the BOTD, which is more than he'd do for anyone he disliked. If anyone had framed up such a scenario starring someone on his enemies list it would be a foregone conclusion that Olbermann would pass that info along promptly, via said enemy being named Worst Person In The World tonight.

I do find Mia2's statement about the New York Post interesting. Now you know we can't trust that Murdoch owned vehicle-- remember their former editor had to resign because of Jason Blair, and the current one had to issue an apology over Judy Miller, and then there was the omnsbudman's public quarrel with Paul Krugman over his misstatements, lately the scandal about the paper holding back the release of info on NSA wiretapping till their reporter's book was released...

And that WASN'T the New York Post? It was the New York Times?

Nevermind...

I believe the only way for Olbermann to get his name in the news in ANY capacity is to trash someone. He's apparently smarter than he looks.
