Alexis Glick’s days numbered?
FTVLive is scooping that Alexis Glick’s days may be numbered on Today and she will soon be removed from the show. If this happens it would be a big hit for Jeff Zucker who almost single handedly forced Glick upon NBC News. Does this mean she might wind up on MSNBC now? Or is she out of NBC News entirely?

Bring her back to CNBC…..She was great on Squawkbox…
Comment by JR — January 30, 2006 @ 4:38 pm
She was excellent on CNBC, she has very strong financial credentials. She used to run floor operations for Morgan Stanley at the NYSE. She added a perspective on technical trading that the others at CNBC rarely did. All she’s doing on the Today show is lifestyle fluff.
Comment by Bill — January 30, 2006 @ 5:51 pm
Surely someone must be fit for Katie Couric’s un-deserving $15M dollar salary(just kidding, no TV host is worth that much). Maybe she will end up at Mess-NBC.
Comment by anonymous — January 30, 2006 @ 8:38 pm
If Alexis returns to MSNBC and has to solo anchor she’ll tank!
Comment by Terance — January 30, 2006 @ 8:45 pm
She certainly has great boobs, which has been lacking on the Today show. I love Katie and think she is worth every penny they pay her, but Alexis’ body is spot on!
Comment by ralph emerson — January 31, 2006 @ 12:37 pm
Katie Couric is NOT worth that much money. Matt Lauer barely makes half that. However, what can one expect from a network that paid the runaway bride $500 grand to give an interview? Not to mention that NBC will pay Katie any ridiculous amount of money to stay with Today. Did I mention how hot Alexis is?
Comment by anonymous — January 31, 2006 @ 6:50 pm
Alexis Glick looks like WHITE TRASH. How she landed a job on network television is a mystery to everyone.
Comment by another anonymous comment — January 31, 2006 @ 8:38 pm
Alexis glick should get to stay on the today show. Like most of you I agree that she is smokin hot.But I also think she is a very smart and funny woman. Maybe if this career doen’t work she could become a talkshow host and wear next to nothing. That would be great!!
Comment by john — February 9, 2006 @ 10:42 am
i e-mailed the today show wondering why we have not seen a glick at he olympics but as usual no response. guess that they made a decision to remove at this time. now it looks as if natalie morales has the spot tht was divided between the 2 gals. i wonder how katie and matt fell-

Alexis waa a joy…. a breath of fresh air. If adding up what’s been written, I’m disappointed and truly disgusted with the Today Show for not allowing those of us who are her fans to know her fate. They could have said she was leaving, told where she was going, and allowed us the privilege of saying good-bye. I still hope we will be seeing her, but, unless she’s on an extended vacation, it looks like it won’t be on the Today Show….. too bad….. we’re all the losers.
Comment by diane — February 27, 2006 @ 11:01 am
I agree with the comments about how great Alexis is. I watched the 3rd hour of the Today Show to see her segments. Now, the segments are not as personal and just okay. I know I won’t be watching as often anymore. Alexis brought flare and fun to the show (and attracted younger viewers too). Her voice was fun and energetic…what the Today Show needs for the 3rd hour. I would equate Alexis and Campbell Brown. Campbell is also a breath of fresh air and would hope that if Katie left, Campbell would take her place (Ann is probably too busy with Dateline). I am already bored with Natalie Morales on the 3rd hour of the Today Show. Natalie should just stick to serious news reports. But I guess NBC wants to loose more ratings and only get praise for a couple of primetime shows and the Tonight Show. The once great channel/station seems to be on a downward spiral that is spinning out of control. Wake up NBC!
Comment by Mary — February 27, 2006 @ 11:53 am
Alexis Glick is (was?) a great asset to the Today Show - she is sharp, quick on her feet and totally outshines Natalie, Campbell and Ann (Curry). Is this about Ann’s obvious dislike of her? Ann is losing it; maybe she should go back to adding some sugar to her diet. She totally makes me feel uncomfortable - a loose cannon. I love her looks (appearance) but I think she definitely is bi-polar. You must be getting pressured from the top people to have lost Alexis because I just know you can’t possibly be that stupid.
Comment by Judith Moglia — February 28, 2006 @ 12:26 am
Hooray!!! I will not miss Alexis Glick at all. She came across as a person with a big phony smile who thought she could walk right in and take over with people (Anne, specifically, and Natalie as well, and Campbell and let’s not forget Lester) who over time earned our respect through a sincere and genuine presence on the Today show.
Comment by Diane M. — February 28, 2006 @ 2:37 am
Me and my family rejoiced to see Alexis gone. Not that I wish any ill to her career (I have no idea what she was like on MSNBC), but she did not fit into the Today show family. She seemed goofy, and lacked any type of credibility to report on real news, which would leave her completely inept to replace Katie. Not to mention she’s not a real journalist, so here being there was a joke to anyone with real field experience. Keep the cutesy girls and news for fluffy afternoon shows, not on morning spots.
Comment by Kia — February 28, 2006 @ 12:48 pm
I miss Alexis and thought she was great on the 3rd hour of Today. I had no idea of her financial background, but thought she was great on the fashion segments (which is what I watch the 9-10 hr for. Natalie is great at reading the news, but she does not handle the interviews as well as Alexis did. Natalie was very good on the special segments at the Olympics, though.
Comment by pmk — February 28, 2006 @ 7:54 pm
We Love Anne!!! Don’t cut your hair. Let it grow down past your bum and then cut it. That way, you can donate it and have enough to keep. We think you’re SMOKIN’ HOT with long hair.
Comment by n/a — February 28, 2006 @ 9:03 pm
I am glad that Alexis Glick is gone! In practically every segment of the show, she had to make a comment about herself and I hated her hugging and kissing everyone during the segments she hosted. I felt that Katie and Anne hated to be on camera when Alexis was on because she was embarrassing. I was embarrassed for them. I was unaware of her past profession.
Comment by Susan — March 1, 2006 @ 11:37 am
The third hour of Today is geared toward fluff anyway. Alexis Glick is warm, intelligent and vibrant. If you didn’t like her, it’s because you don’t like the character inside yourself. Anne always had hate rays aimed at her!!!
Comment by Joe — March 1, 2006 @ 1:29 pm
I sent an email to the Today Show. I wondered what happened to Alexis. I always have watched, but this has been really bad. If they can not own up to what happened then maybe we should just quit watching them.
Comment by Gerry — March 1, 2006 @ 5:15 pm
I was hoping that Alexis would leave The Today Show and am glad that this event has taken place quietly and discreetly. She has great news credentials, especially in the financial arena, and that’s where her talents should be used. She often seemed silly and shallow on The Today Show, which wasn’t fair to her or the viewers. I wish her luck in finding a better-suited position, on the air or off.
Comment by Lucille — March 2, 2006 @ 10:39 am
I am sorry to see Alexis Glick off the air. She was a youthful alternative to the aging couch crew. Even Natalie acts like one of the older members even though she is much younger. Alexis added sparkle and glamor and showed improvement in her interview skills to the point that she could handle the fluff and the serious. She should have been kept on the air to do those duties but not to sit on the couch with the others to do small talk. Natalie just appears too uncomfortable to do the fluff segments because she comes off as too conservative and reserve and not too personally interested as Alexis appeared to be. Natalie is boring. I hope Alexis finds a job at the competition because she would be an asset to them.
Comment by May — March 2, 2006 @ 11:20 am
WOW! Alexis, Alexis just didn’t fit in. I use to think the only one on her side may have been Al. It was plain to see she wasn’t one of Ann’s favorites. I tried to like her but after she held up Heidi Klums ring I was done. Alexis tried to hard as Lester did in the beginning. Only difference they helped us like him. Alexis was on her own.

I wonder what happened to Alexis Glick? Could it be that Ann didn’t like her, so they let her go? I don’t know, but I must say, I thought she did well during her TRAINING, she should have been given more of a chance.

What is wrong with the Today Show………THEY NEED ALEXIS BACK……..SHE WAS/IS THE BEST…Natalie Morales is too fake/nervous, her smile is so fake, she just isn’t natural, very boring. Alexis should definately be the next Katie Couric.
Comment by Karen Dawson — March 6, 2006 @ 10:09 am
Say what you want about preference for Natalie or Alexis, but one thing Natalie IS NOT is fake. She is one of the most genuine and nicest person you will ever meet or talk to.
Comment by bravesfan — March 6, 2006 @ 7:54 pm
I started disliking Alexis when I noticed how much she talked about herself. And that giant (nervous?) smile made me think things weren’t going too well behind the scenes. Everyone is talking about Anne not liking her. What about Matt? He looked like he was holding his breath hoping she wouldn’t say anything too hideous. The Today Crew would be a tough one to fit in with. Campbell Brown is so much better than she used to be. I like Anne but her interview skills lean toward sappy and too emotional. I think the Today Show is making a big mistake by not making a statement about Alexis leaving the network…..if in fact she has.
Comment by Donna — March 6, 2006 @ 10:43 pm
I am sorry but I am so glad to see Alexis Glick gone! She reminded me of one of those fake, country club types that you would run away from at cocktail parties. And she was always groping Al Roker and the others on the couch. Awful. yes, it was clear that Anne disliked her but so did the others. They all seemed to cringe whenever Alexis opened her enormous mouth. It made me so uncomfortable, I had to change the channel whenever she was on. She is a pretty woman, who is smart (though she didn’t act like it on the Today Show!!) and will be better suited elsewhere.

I agree with Susan. If you hate Alexis, you must have some sort of self loathing or inherent negativity issues. She was a doll. Sweet, open, and very human. We love her and miss her. I’m done watching. And yeah, she was SO sexy!
Comment by EB — March 9, 2006 @ 11:00 am
Too bad that Alexis Glick is off the air. She brought with her a strong sense of intelligence and enthusiasm formed by a good solid background on the NYSE Floor. Unfortunately, interrelationships with peers is very important, specially in this highly-personal and -political workplace. While Katie is well-liked by the public, she does not have the true intelligence and pleasant personality that Matt Lauer and Al Roker both exude. Alexis brought in this much-needed intelligence and refreshing appeal. Her presence and vibrance complemented those of Matt and Al. She was such a welsome addition to the show, effectively balancing out the primadonna attitude of Katie Couric (who is not worth the money she is paid). Looks like NBC’s downward spiral is forthcoming, fueled by their handling of the Today Show.
Good luck, NBC! YOU NEED IT!
Comment by AV — March 14, 2006 @ 1:51 pm
Am I seeing things? People on this board are actually calling Alexis Glick a phony and a news lightweight and saying she’s no Katie Couric? Are you kidding? Katie is the ultimate phony/lighweight on television. I pray CBS gives her the nightly news gig so people can see exactly how much of an idiot she really is. Bring back Alexis now! At least if you’re going to create a show of fluff, fill the crew with good looking women who don’t have to resort to face lifts and fake tans to look young!!!!
Comment by katiecolonoscopy — March 14, 2006 @ 1:55 pm
Well, I agree with most of the previous comments. She (Alexis) often seemed inexperienced and fake. At times it was certainly easy to find fault. HOWEVER I must remind myself of how difficult it must be coming into a program under the circumstances. I also remember just how bad Ann was in her beginnings and now look at her! Remember just how bad Debra Norval was before Katie took over? Maybe Alexis wasn’t really given a chance to settle in and become her real self. Maybe she just wasn’t as good as the others at being fake and more of who she is came out. What ever the case SHAME on NBC and the TODAY SHOW for not offering one bit of information to their audience. The viewers deserve to know what is going on instead of wondering what happened to her. Here TODAY gone tomorrow. Wow, we invest our time in getting to know and accept these personalities then they disappear without a mention. Almost as if she never existed. What happened we wonder. NBC should respect their audience more. Good luck Alexis.

How do I say this………..the last three posts (36-38) look somewhat suspicious. Within a 6-minute time period (1:51pm - 1:57pm) three different people (supposedly) posted messages of undeserving support and unjustified praise of Alexis Glick and her “talent”. I have read on many message boards that Glick has a strong group of “lackeys” (one of those “lackeys” from what I have read is her troubled husband Oren Glick) that post baseless compliments about her ability while degrading her competition. I thought people should be aware of this when viewing these messages………..be careful of what you see and read, especially on the Internet.

Comment by AV — March 15, 2006 @ 1:11 pm
yeah, anonymous, AV does sound suspicios. Especially since they keep bringing up this notion that somehow Alexis is smart because she worked on the NYSE. Please-give me a break. Sure. Anyone who doesn’t share your views is “suspicious”. This is, after all, a free country, and we’re all entitled to our own opinion.

It just hit me today, someone was missing. I always felt very uncomfortable when Alexis was on. She came across very silly, giddy and trying much to hard. However, I believe that the lack of professionalism that Ann showed during their brief segments together, created a very uncomfortable feeling for viewers.
Good luck everyone.

I would have to agree~I am SOOO glad that Alexis Glick is gone ! I used to have to turn away from her segments because of her overly faky smile and her constantly blinking. She is not material to be in fron toof the camera no matter what size her boobs are. You still are stuck counting her eyeblinks and dealing with that goofy smile !
Comment by Amy — March 20, 2006 @ 11:29 am
What I could never get over was how she would blink about 50 times a second when delivering her lines directly to the camera. Anyone with epilepsy must have been in danger watching her.
Comment by Geoff — March 21, 2006 @ 1:47 pm
Obviously the aging queen bees couldn’t handle the compitition from a much more attractive and professional women. I agree that Alexis didn’t look real comfortable on the Today Show. It seems that she couldn’t handle the dumbing down it took to transition from real news to fluff. (Any doubt that the Today Show is fluff was ended with the idiotic “Runaway Bride interview”.) Alexis proved her talent and intelligence at CNBC and MSNBC. I am glad she that has left Today. That show is no place for a real journalist. She can and will do alot better at a real news job without the prima donnas glaring everytime she talks.

I’m going to be “good” here, but this is what NBC doesn’t get. The last hour of TODAY are indeed fluff. You need someone who exudes some femininity and neither Natalie or (especially) Ann Curry does. Unfortunately, Ann has too much of an attitude and it shows, terribly. Natalie is simply too petite and looks like a cute little gymnast that was once on steroids. (I apologize, Natalie, because you are quite professional behind the News Desk. Just stay there) I realize the audience during that hour of the morning is primarily women, but I think NBC is missing it by not including a warm, soft, feminine type.
Comment by Mike Courtis — April 4, 2006 @ 1:22 pm
I wholeheartedly agree with Mary’s post that Alexis and Campbell Brown are both a breath of fresh air. I think Katie Couric would be much better served if she would accept being nearly 50 years old and stop acting like a teeny-bopper.
Comment by Craig — April 14, 2006 @ 9:50 am
I have read many of the previous posts and with some I wonder if they are watching the same Today show that I am. Alexis brought an air of freshness and knowledge to her segments. Now with Katie leaving it would be great to see her back. Ann is on a downhill slide and natalie is good for the news segments and that is about it. Just think if we had Campbell and Alexis more frequently. To really respect an opinion of someone like anonymous use a name. Nothing is more fake than using anonymous.
Comment by Tim — April 28, 2006 @ 12:59 pm

I have read many of the previous posts and with some I wonder if they are watching the same Today show that I am. Alexis flat-out stinks, and often looked absolutely confused when doing her segments. On the other hand Natalie Morales is doing a great job since she replaced the deplorable Mrs.Glick. Beautiful, thoughtful, professional, Natalie truly has the whole package. Glick was dismissed from the Today Show and to be honest she never really belonged.

Anyone watch CNBC? That station is absolutely painful to watch w/o Alexis? Don’t want her on TODAY? Fine. Bring her back to CNBC!
Comment by bob — June 6, 2006 @ 2:30 pm
I guess everyone does truly see the world differently. I never noticed any tension between Ann and Alexis, I always felt uncomfortable watching Natalie and Alexis together. They seemed to talk over each other all the time. I don’t think Ann has a mean bone in her body, she’s seems like a very geniune person… probably to the point that it makes most of us cinics uncomfortable. I think Natalie is good at the news desk, but her interview skills are painful mostly because she talks over who ever she’s interviewing and answers her own questions before they even have a chance. I’m sure she’ll get better at it though. Actually, Natalie is mysteriously missing this week… she didn’t fall into the a black hole too, did she?
Comment by andy — June 15, 2006 @ 10:17 am
Alexis Glick was the object of jealousy by the other members of the Today show. They conspired to have her fired because she combined beauty, intelligence, warmth, humility and mid stream politics. She was very popular with female and male viewers. It does not take much talent to do the Today Show but it does take charm, beauty and intelligence to have both female and male viewers stumble over themselves to watch the segments in which she appeared. The bottom line is who would you rather wake up next to and be with in the morning? Katie-definitely not,no,never under any circumstance;Ann-no;Natalie-no;Campbell-maybe;Alexis-everyday of the week and every hour of the day.
Bring Alexis back or ,at least, tell us where we can find that godess. My mornings were much better with such a babe.

Alexis is intelligent, beautiful, charming and real. She was a threat to Katie, and Katie conspired to have her fired. I’d much prfer to wake up with Alexis than Katie. Hell, I’d wake up with Alexis every morning of the week.
