MSNBC.com Olympic plans…

I’m still catching up from yesterday’s abscence. NBC announced yesterday what MSNBC.com will be doing in support of the Torino Olympics…

The all-inclusive Olympic Winter Games news provider for MSN, MSNBC.com’s news coverage of the Torino Games features a wide range of content including original analysis, videos, blogs, interactive features, slide shows, live votes and reports from Torino. Partnering with NBC News, the site will have reports from “Today” and “NBC Nightly News” including an exclusive daily blog, with both video and text from the “Today” show anchors, the “NBC Nightly News’” blog, “The Daily Nightly,” as well as interviews with athletes and reports from destinations around Italy. Located at http://Olympics.MSNBC.com, the dedicated Olympics news section also will have details on medal winners, medal count, rosters, TV listings, schedules and more.

MSNBC.com’s signature multimedia content is the cornerstone of its Olympic Winter Games news coverage. Interactive features include “It’s all downhill,” a skier’s view of the slopes with video of Bode Miller and audio from former Olympian Steve Mahre, and “Figure skating basics,” explaining the rules and moves of the Games’ most popular sport with flash animation and text. The MSNBC.com original feature “Close Up,” offers a multimedia look at one of figure skating’s biggest stars, Michelle Kwan, and alpine skiing’s most controversial and popular figures, Bode Miller. Photo slide shows of the events, athletes, ceremonies and the area will provide a glimpse into the action, the beautiful surroundings and the many emotional moments at the Torino Games.

Carlson ripped on Romenesko…

In a letter to Romenesko, James O’Shea rips Tucker Carlson over what happened during their taped interview on Tuesday night. (via TVNewser)

It is one thing to disagree with me about the decisions we make in what we run and don’t run in the Chicago Tribune. You even had the gall to say “I respectfully disagree but I appreciate your coming on (to the show) to explain it.” That was when I was being taped, or as close as you could come to looking me in the eye.

After the tape ran on your live show later and I (and the hundreds of millions of other Americans who don’t watch Tucker) were otherwise occupied, you referred to my newspaper as “cowardly” and to me personally as a “corporate worm.” You didn’t even have the guts to say that to me on tape.

It is no wonder that people don’t want to appear on your show. I know I won’t appear on your show or MSNBC and I would guess that would apply to my colleagues at the Chicago Tribune.

Olbermann goes off on the competition…

Keith Olbermann was really enjoying himself tonight. According to the MSN MSNBC group, Olbermann tagged both CNN and FNC in the Worse, Worser, Worst Person In The World segment tonight. He also burned CNN rotten during the Oddball segment for harping on the Capitol shutdown long after it was revealed that nothing really happened.

FOX and CNN got honorable mentions in Worst person in the world. FOX was #3 for their Independnce Day gaffe and at number 1 for their editing skills. CNN’s Glenn Beck as number 2 for comments about Jimmy Carter. Olbermann called on CNN to boot Beck.

————————

He cut in to Oddbal with a “BREAKING NEWS” intro and the bar said “Cnn quits milking evacuation of Senate from last night” or something like that and Olbermann said they will quit calling it breaking news!! I almost died laughing!!!!
