Shep broadcasts from Mississippi

The NY Post’s Michael Starr notes that Shepard Smith will be broadcasting from Mississippi today…

Today/tonight on Fox News Channel: Shepard Smith hosts “Studio B” (3 p.m.) and “Fox Report” (7 p.m.) from his native Mississippi. He’ll be in Pass Christian and Long Beach reporting on how the area has progressed, six months after Hurricane Katrina.

His colleague, Greta Van Susteren, interviews Joran van der Sloot (the Holloway case) in Aruba (10 p.m.).

  1. O boy there’s a surprise…..Greta’s in Aruba! How long will it take for that ’story’ to get old enough that the viewers will finally start turning the channel.

  2. The only thing that seems certain anymore, is that Greta will be covering this story. I’ve turned the channel.

  3. Her numbers are down. I turned the channel long ago.
With the bright and appealing Joe Scarborough and Anderson Cooper as alternatives, there are other options for viewing at this hour.

  4. Getting back to Shep…..

It sounds as if the Katrina victims of Mississippi and the all of the Hurricane Rita victims have been forgotten, as the focus has been so much on the devastation of New Orleans. Let’s hope Shep’s coverage can help those people get some assistance as well!

  5. Yes, the folks on the MS Coast feel pretty much forgotten. My mom lives in Long Beach and they’re pretty much doing it themselves because FEMA and the rest of the feds seem to not realize they’re even there. At least, MS does get some coverage. It’s positively a crime that the area flattened by Rita is almost totally ignored, although entire towns have been wiped out in SW LA.
