MSNBC only network to cover Pope John Paul II ceremony…
MSNBC is the only network covering the live ceremony from the Vatican commemorating the death of Pope John Paul II with Pope Benedict XVI leading the ceremony. FNC is in the middle of Studio B but not covering it. CNN is running the taped In The Money. For CNN this move is particularly surprising since last night the network devoted its entire primetime broadcast to programming related to John Paul II with a Larry King Live special and a 2 hour CNN Presents special. Yet they don’t cover this official ceremony.
UPDATE: Commentor Missy noted that MSNBC was also the only network to cover the Condoleeza Rice/Jack Straw press conference in Iraq. I’m surprised that FNC ignored that…

Why cover live news when you can put together a special and send out a press release about it to promote your network and not the content of the special? It’s not about news, it’s about self promotion, c’mon Spud!

And guess what else they did? They were the ONLY outlet to cover the Condoneezza Rice/Jack Straw press conference over in Iraq, which took place this morning ~1 or 2 a.m. ET. I couldn’t believe it - both Fox and CNN were airing taped programming, while MSNBC was covering the event live! Good for them.

Just having problems sleeping. You know, I’m worried about the “feud”, etc.
