Keith Olbermann profile…
Howard Kurtz has a profile of MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann in The Washington Post. (Note to Kurtz: Olbermann Watch is not a “recently launched” website)
“Keith’s show is the best show on television, period — interesting, edgy and really well written,” says MSNBC President Rick Kaplan. He says Olbermann is “incredibly aggressive” toward anyone in power: “In the same way that people who think the president needs to be supported more have turned to Fox, a lot of people who think the president needs to be taken on more have found a friendly voice in ‘Countdown.’ ”
NBC News President Steve Capus says “there’s no question he’s stepped up his opinionated discussions, but the audience is smart enough to know what is straight news reporting and what is opinion-driven talk.”

“The best show on television, period”, says Kaplan! After making a fool, untrue statement like that I wouldn’t go stand out in a thunderstorm if I were Kaplan. This guy has really come unhinged.

No, Cara, Kaplan has an IQ and gets Olbermann. They really should relabel Fox as “TV for stupid people”.

Sounds like Kaplan wanted to finally put to rest all of the “Kaplan hates Olbermann” attacks, which Olbermann had never responded to until the recent Brian Lamb C-Span interview. But I do enjoy the descriptive words thrown out daily here: “unhinged”, “desperate”, “laughingstock”, “obsession”, “radical views”, “left-wing loon”, “nut”, “ranting”, etc……all sound vaguely familiar, like I’ve heard them before on some cable network…..

This loser is sure getting his 15 minutes of fame. Sorry to say but BOR played right into this loser’s tactic. Knowing BOR has sort of a short temper he egged him on until he finally took the bait. Now this loser is getting articles written about him, going on the daily show etc… Hope BOR learned his lesson and not give this loser anymore publicity.

With the exception of the Kaplan quote (which I guess we have to be grateful for if only because it might put to rest the “Olbermann is about to get fired again for not getting along with another employer” rumors), this article is a hatchet job on Olbermann. Thanks, Spud, for pointing out that Olbermannwatch is anything but “new.” Sheesh! Kurtz makes it sound as if Olbermannwatch is some kind of defensive measure created by someone who saw Olbermann’s show was getting popular, didn’t like what it had to say and felt moved to counteract it. Nonsense. Olbermannwatch started long ago when Olbermann had fewer viewers than it does now, but certain people STILL felt so very threatened by what was being said on his show that they had to attack it anyway (in part by ridiculing the ratings). Olbermannwatch is nothing but a bunch of crap perpetuated by someone angry at Olbermann for not being a right-wing loony. Always has been, always will be. And people like the guy who runs that site, and O’Reilly who can’t resist getting into it with Olbermann, and the people who can’t come up with anything better to do than throw the same lame brickbats at him (which museglet has already listed) are the real losers. They can’t make any serious comebacks to what he says, and the far right and the White House are looking less credible by the day, so what’s the solution? …Oh, there’s Olbermann! Maybe if we keep calling him “Krazy Keith,” someday people will believe it and come back to OUR side! Yeah! That’s the ticket!!
