Reese blogs some more on CNN’s drop…
Last week’s rating analysis failed to take into account one of my pet theories: whenever President Bush is in trouble CNN’s ratings go up. The President was never in more trouble than he was last March so why did CNN’s year-to-year primetime ratings fall by 37%?
CNN Money.com’s Chris Isidore writes about Fed Chairmen Ben Bernanke’s comments to the Senate Banking Committee regarding the incident with Maria Bartiromo and himself that occurred during the White House Correspondent’s Dinner last month…
“I warned you to be careful about what you say because people would follow what you said very closely,” Bunning said. Markets fell after Bernanke’s comments were reported the following Monday.

Starting Monday, June 5, CNN Student News will provide weekly update programs online at www.CNN.com/Education. The daily program returns online and on Headline News on Monday, Aug. 14. CNN Presents: Classroom Edition will air throughout the summer on Mondays at 4 – 5 a.m. (ET).
TV Guide.com’s Damian C. Holbrook has an interview with Cooper regarding his book…
TV Guide: I spent the weekend reading your book and let me tell you, it’s pretty dark. Working out some issues here, huh?
Cooper: [Laughs] Well, yeah… I guess.
TV Guide: Of course, between covering wars and natural disasters, this has been a tough year for you.
Cooper: Yeah. 2005 was especially interesting.
TV Guide: So why do the book instead of a TV special?
Cooper: I wanted to honor the people I met and the emotions they were experiencing. A lot of times we see things, but then that feeling disappears. I didn’t want this to disappear.
