Opinion: O’Reilly can’t resist it…

I had noted several times recently that Bill O’Reilly had been keeping quiet in this spat with MSNBC for quite a while. I had thought he had finally figured out the only practical way to deal with Olbermann. I was wrong. Last night O’Reilly went after MSNBC again…

If you’ve read any of my books, you know I believe in karma. Do bad things, you’ll get yours eventually. Do good things, you’ll get rewarded. Recently, two bad guys got theirs:

Air America fired its president, Gary Krantz. The disastrous radio network booted him out on the heels of the removal of CEO Danny Goldberg. We believe there is major chaos at that far left concern.

There’s also major chaos at MSNBC, where Rick Kaplan has left after pretty much destroying that place. He did the same thing at CNN before he got fired over there. Closing in on its 10th anniversary, MSNBC’s ratings are lower than they were six years ago, which might be ridiculous.

You just had to do it Bill. You couldn’t leave it alone. Congratulations. You just gave Keith Olbermann’s feud with you a new lease on life…

  1. He didn’t give KO anything. Isn’t KO always on BOR case? So what’s changed? He’ll still get on BOR but BOR won’t play.

  2. Well he did give him something, and that’s all KO needs. In fact he doesn’t even need that, since last night KO took shots at Brit Hume and Bill over their ratings. But Olby will use this tonight as a pretext for attack #98.

  3. I have been so glad that Bill wasn’t taking the bait.
But I spoke too soon. Regretful!

  4. Guys, I really don’t think that’s the case. He called out Kaplan, not Keith.

And what was Keith’s issue with Hume? Did Keith finally beat an FNC show in the ratings or something? Sure - the day Michael Moore joins the RNC!

  5. Missy and Lurker: Thanks.

    Much ado about nothing, Spud.

  6. Not so. Olbermann has another edition of “Factor Fiction” coming tonight. He’s going to give Bill-O what he rightfully deserves…as does everyone on Faux News!

  7. Right on schedule, what’s Olbermann doing tonight? A “rant” against O’Reilly. I honestly believe that Olbermann does this just to get stories done about his shows on websites like this and throughout the liberal blogosphere to get the free publicity. It’s pathetic. O’Reilly made a big mistake by even mentioning Olbermann’s name or talking about MSNBC and giving him that kind of outlet.

  8. tanne, all O’Reilly has to do is sneeze and that would be enough of an excuse for Keith to do a segment on him!

  9. Considering the garbage that spews from all of Bill-O’s orifices regularly, Missy, you’re right…

…And oh, did Keith go to town on the Loofah Meister tonight!! It was a glorious thing to see! Sure to be his next viral video hit! Tonight’s Countdown was definitely a show for the ages. Thanks for the gift, Bill! Have a falafel on me! Well, not ON me…PLEASE, not ON ME…! (shuddering)

  10. tanne, why is it you and your idol Keith would pounce all over O’Reilly for anything, yet you were all just daring him last week to even mention Keith’s vile e-mail exchanges? So it’s all right for Keith to be as crude as possible, but if O’Reilly does so, it’s the sin of the century. Is this the double-standard at work once again?

    Comment by Missy — June 29, 2006 @ 1:07 pm

  11. Missy, I admire Keith, but he’s hardly my idol. But he’s not crude…whereas Bill O’Reilly is as crude as they come. No double standard about that!

  12. I didn’t realize Keith was vulgar until I read the e-mail excerpts when he referred to the body parts of Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh, who were not even part of the conversation!

I think less of O’Reilly after his “loofa” remarks of last year. But if a hero of mine said anything as vulgar as what Keith said about Ann & Rush, I’d be disappointed and devastated.
