CNN re-runs King/Jones interview in daytime…
CNN is in the middle of re-running the Larry King/Star Jones interview from last night, which coincidentally (or maybe not so coincidentally) puts the show up against The View on the east coast. But there’s a lot of breaking news going on today and for an hour CNN’s news viewers will be deprived of that. This doesn’t exactly acquit CNN of the charge stemming from the Cooper/Jolie interview that CNN is pandering to entertainment and celebrity over news. If anything it re-enforces it.
UPDATE: TV Squad’s Bob Sassone doesn’t think much of this… (via TVNewser)

what breaking news? Bush goes to Graceland? From what I’ve seen all day, the talk is about Star Jones. I mean everywhere I turned the channel this AM, it was Larry King and Star Jones. I didn’t get to see the interview last night and missed the rerun this morning…SO I’m hoping CNN reruns it this weekend.

“what breaking news? Bush goes to Graceland?”
Heh. Bush tries to claim some Elvis mojo? Forget it, white boy - Clinton has the whole Elvis thing sewed up.
You know, last week I didn’t know who Star Jones was. I miss the blissfully ignorant person I was back then…

How about the breaking news of the confession of Jessica Lunsford’s killer being tossed?
Or the negotiations for the release of the kidnapped soldier in Gaza?

I work in news and, yeah, there’s not much going on today except for attacks in Gaza, SCOTUS decisions, floods, etc. But who needs to know about real news when Star Jones was dissed by Baba Wawa?

What the heck is CNN thinking running a canned interview during the daytime? Ted Turner is doing back-flips right now.

Anderson Cooper will probably snag an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters, in which both of them will cry for two hours.

Good Grief! Is CNN taking a lesson from MSNBC - running tapes of previous shows? Two losers, IMO.

People rip on CNN for not having high ratings. When they try to get some NEW viewers to stick around, they get ripped again! I know this might come as a shock to some, but the majority of people that watch tv aren’t tuned into a news channel.

CNN = Celebrity News Network? Is this what they are turning into in order to get viewers.
Whatever it takes, I guess.

I don’t think these things would be such a big deal if that fool Jon Klein wasn’t always talking sh#t about the “news being the star, sizzle is dead, yaddah yaddah.” Clearly, anybody would’ve played a win this big for all it’s worth, actions like this make those words look extremely hypocrical.
And good for old Larry for scoring a big one - he probably doesn’t have too many big victories left.
Coop and Soledad must be pissed!

Who’s laughing now…sure ain’t CNN. Ailes was probably saying every cuss word in the book after he saw LKL’s numbers. Oh and by the way, FNC= the Fake News Channel.

Cable News Watcher, this thread has NOTHING to do with FNC!!! How on earth can you justify working this last dig into the conversation?
