Launch Scrubbed again…

The launch got scrubbed again today. I woke up early and saw the clouds and said to myself that today would be a good day to sleep in. So I missed the scrub notice. However a tipster had this to say over a series of emails…

1:33 - MSNBC is airing the NASA launch control audio (the Scrub notice). CNN and FNC are not covering it.

1:34 - FNC is just reporting it now as a FOX News Alert. CNN is still on tape.

3:10 - CNN is not showing the 3pm NASA Press Conf. Instead they have a lower third on screen saying when the next launch will be. MSNBC was first to show the press conf. FNC went to in about 2min later.

The only thing I noticed that was odd was NBC’s Tom Costello was anchoring the coverage for MSNBC instead of Chris Jansing. However MSNBC may have made a calculated gamble that the shuttle wouldn’t launch today (for the other possible reason see below). I noticed they were back in NBC’s permanent set and not at the temporary set they used yesterday. But the lightning threat may have had something to do with that and I know Miles O’Brien moved his broadcast location to inside CNN’s nerve center to avoid getting struck.

The next attempt is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon which presents a problem for MSNBC as Jansing is supposed to be guest hosting on The Most next week.
