CNBC tried to shoot down Aquaman story?

TVNewser has a partial transcript from a CNBC discussion on the Aquaman story where they say they tried to shoot down the Aquaman story but nobody would listen…

“It was on the radio. It was in Variety. It was everywhere. And now no one will change it. We called the New York Post six times. It’s out there. I’m Ron Burgundy.”

Ron Burgundy? Hmmm…

I don’t see that much a similarity…

  1. Again, it’s interesting how TVN is flooding his site with posts about this, when he was the one who erroneously reported the story in the first place. Running for cover, anyone?

  2. I don’t think he meant looking like him literally. I’ve never seen Anchorman so I don’t know what this Ron Burgundy thing is all about but I’m guessing he’s sort of stupid and idiotic and that Joe Kernan piece made him look like that.

I knew Joe Kernan was kidding around. He’s a funny, witty, sarcastic guy and he knows his Disney movies well.

  3. Man TVN is really a moron. But CNBC/Kernan was VERY smart on his part by turning the tables and taking advantage of the (relatively small amount of) publicity. And Brian looked like a moron on the network today…
