Sean McLaughlin in Phoenix…
The Arizona Republic’s Randy Cordova writes about Sean McLaughlin coming home to Phoenix…(va TVNewser)
“Working six days a week, you find out what’s important in life, and that’s family and kids,” he said. “I came to realize that if I continued on that (network) path, I’d keep missing out on the all the great things that come to a parent.”
Additionally, “there were more and more changes at MSNBC. People that hired me were no longer there and they were going in different directions. I wanted to be in a community where I could really grow again.”

It’s hard to root for a person who mispronounces his own name. The name Sean is an irish derivation of John,Juan, and Jean. As you can see all of these names rhyme with lawn using the au sound. Nowhere in the world, except within Mr. McLaughlin’s mind, is a long eeee sound associated with this name. If he can produce anyone outside of his own family who is named Sean and pronounces it Seen I would be surprised.

Sean, Mr. McLaughlin actually has a brother named Shawn. I doubt Sean McLaughlin decided how to pronounce his name, rather that was his parents. I think its petty to criticize a very talented reporter because you don’t like the name his parents gave him.
