Question of the Weekend…
If you had the power to remove one program from CNN’s lineup, which one would it be and why? (I’m going to be asking this question with the other networks too so don’t be accusing me of singling out CNN now…)

Those stupid “CNN Presents”! I can’t stand them……this is not news, it is filler. If they want to do news, let them fill this time with National news……….it will be a relief from the many war zone coverages. I would love to know what is going on within our borders, too!

Imigration has been pushed to the back burnner and myself with a grandson in Iraq, we hear very little about what is going on in that war zone, very frustrating indeed.

AC360

Since Headline News, is a part of CNN, I would love to pink slip Nancy Grace. NG doesn’t HEADLINE NEWS, she will not, nor ever will be considered a serious news anchor. She’s better off at Court TV, where she can live out her days, being the perpetual victim, she sees herself as.

#3, I agree with you about Nancy Grace over-dramatizing the tragic death of her fiance and it’s sad. To be fair, she is a prosecutor NOT a journalist and the ratings have risen in the timeslot.
My vote goes to remove AC360.

paula zahn now
i would re-arrange most of the afternoon/primetime line-up
4-7pm- The Situation Room
7pm- Lou Dobbs Tonight
8pm- Anderson Cooper 360
9pm- Larry King Live
10pm- Frontline w. John Roberts and Heidi Collins

I would remove the overnight repeats of the prime-time programs. Put CNN/International on overnights. Maybe rerun 360 and lkl once and be done with it.

I’m surprised more people haven’t said Paula Zahn Now. What a waste of an hour. There’s NEVER anything of value on that show. However, they should definitely keep Paula herself and replace her on that trainwreck otherwise known as “American Morning”, which has become a snoozefest with Miles and Soledad.

Paula Zahn Now. Paula can get headlines in trade magazines, but both on FNC and CNN, she just can’t pull in the viewers. She’s talented, but this show it obviously the wrong platform… again.
It’s consistantly dead weight on the schedule, and never gets any publicity for the network. (When was the last time a Paula Zahn interview made headlines? Well, okay, the question could be phrased “When was the last time somebody at CNN who is NOT Anderson Cooper got headlines?”, but I’ll stay on subject.)

Another vote for Paula. They’ll get rid of AC360 when Hell freezes; it gets more demos than LKL most nights.

I agree with comment number 8 - Replace Paula Zahn Now with a new show and move Paula back to AM.
Comment by F10 — July 30, 2006 @ 3:36 am
AC360. Replace it with a new program designed around John Roberts.

PZ needs to go home and whoever hired her should be fired.

I rarely watch CNN, so I don’t have a valid opinion. But I have peeped into American Morning, and that is a total bore!
Hosts have whiny voices. No punch or humor to this show. There is nothing there that says, ” Stay and watch awhile.”
Comment by cella — July 30, 2006 @ 8:19 am
Paula Zahn now, of course. She just does’t have the pizzaz to draw viewers. She bombed on Fox News Channel and is doing the same on CNN, but worse. If I had the authority, I would revise all prime-timne line-ups and come up with better talents and new faces. CNN, otherwise, will always be second-best.
Comment by RGL — July 30, 2006 @ 8:40 am
It would be a toss-up between American Morning and Paula Zahn Now. They canned Connie Chung for doing the exact same types of stories as Paula is doing now. I never watch that show.

I would remove Paula Zahn Now. CNN is my cable network of choice but I turn off PZN. The Paula that I see is not at ease with her reporting and at times her voice is so slow and syrupy that it turns me off. She reminds me of Carol Lin at times and I cannot watch her either.
When I dislike what I see in someone, I always look at myself and try to find meaning in my feelings as a lesson for me. So it is nothing against Paula and Carol, these are MY feelings that tell me something about myself. Humor me I am old.

AC360
Maybe I’ll tune in to AC if he goes back to hosting The Mole lol.

My vote - That O’Brien snoozefest in the mornings, American Morning. It’s just awful. If they don’t cancel it, can they at least get Miles O’Brien a fact checker? His constant mistakes are pretty humiliating at this point.
Comment by Staycee — July 30, 2006 @ 11:16 am
Glen Beck grates on my nerves. I gave it a shot, waited a few weeks and tried him again. No sell. After him, Paula Zahn.
Comment by daubermaus — July 30, 2006 @ 1:37 pm
By default, Paula Zahn Now has to go. As bad as American Morning is, PZN is even worse. Blitzer can’t go anywhere b/c he hosts CNN’s election coverage, Dobbs numbers has soared since he started ranting about the illegals, LKL is THE face of the network and CNN has invested WAY too much money in pretty boy Anderson Cooper for him to go anywhere. What has Paula Zahn added to the network?
Comment by The Voice of Reason — July 30, 2006 @ 2:38 pm
It’s a tossup for me between The O’Briens and Paula Zahn too. I will flip past them but keep on moving. Neither show is worth watching, IMO.
Comment by OverHere — July 30, 2006 @ 2:40 pm
AC 360. Anderson Cooper is overexposed at 25 hours per week. His is boring, whiney, and since there isn’t enough new material to cover a full 2 hours, they repeat many segments ad nauseum.

i like ac360. wolf blizter bores me to tears. lose him

Anderson Cooper, Heidi Collins and John Roberts are the best of CNN.
