9/11’s 5th: MSNBC to re-air Today’s 9/11 coverage…
An emailer wrote in to note that MSNBC will be re-airing the Today shows’ 9/11 coverage on the Fifth Anniversary of 9/11 starting at 8:30 AM with Chris Matthews hosting. I was going to ask why not show MSNBC’s coverage of the event, but then I remembered that FNC’s Greg Jarrett was Chris Jansing’s co-anchor on that day so that might not look so good. But then I remembered that Katie Couric doesn’t work for NBC anymore. So I will ask it after all…
Why isn’t MSNBC showing its own coverage from that day?

And they’re ripping off CNN’s idea. CNN announced weeks ago that Pipeline would be showing its full 9/11/01 coverage. Typical that MSNBC can’t come up with an original idea on its own.

I saw a LOT of MSNBC’s coverage that day and I don’t understand why they wouldn’t show that, it was just as good as what I saw from the other networks on tape later. I would have guessed the Gregg Jarrett thing too, maybe because he is in more direct competition with MSNBC now than Katie is? That’s the only thing I can think of.
Then again, very little that MSNBC does makes sense anymore so who knows.

It’s probably NOT an MSNBC decision though…this reeks of 30 Rock interference…

MSNBC continues to baffle me. Yesterday they broadcast that all day political election coverage. This indicated a surge toward serious days ahead, leading up to the November election.
Then today they didn’t cover the president’s speech.
They can’t decide what they want to be.
That’s why no one can decide to watch them.

MSNBC has been planning this for a while. They didn’t rip CNN off because CNN is broadcasting all of their stuff ONLINE and not on television. There is a difference. So get over attacking MSNBC, it’s getting old.

NBC did copy CNN’s idea to rebroadcast 9/11 coverage and it’s as clear as day. Deal with it.

There is a difference between doing it ONLINE and ON THE AIR. They are two seperate mediums. It wasn’t anyone copying anyone. Just because MSNBC doesn’t promote itself MONTHS in advance like CNN, doesn’t mean they copied CNN. Ask Spud, I’m sure he will be more than happy to tell you that there are some things that MSNBC has planned for weeks, sometimes months in advance and you won’t see any promotion of it until a week, maybe even a day in advance.
But if you want to lump broadcast and internet all together as one, then I guess that means MSNBC is the #1 news network. Because with 7 million streams yesterday on MSNBC.com, that means they beat out even FOX’ weak in comparison 2 million primetime viewers. :-)

And you can’t forget how when MSNBC.com rebroadcasts an event like the State of the Union, or other big breaking news stories, they bring in millions of additional viewers to MSNBC… but you don’t see anyone parading around those numbers…. because they are different mediums.

“It’s probably NOT an MSNBC decision though…this reeks of 30 Rock interference…”
Maybe so, but that doesn’t change the fact that I am baffled by most of what occurs on MSNBC these days. You don’t think 30 Rock has a hand in what goes on there on a daily basis?

CNN was the first network to announce it would replay its 9/11 coverage. MSNBC copied them. It’s pretty simple. Apologists like you and Brian Stelter won’t point that out, but it’s true!

Alfonso is Jimmy…back once again to spew venom at all things MSNBC and Brian Stelter. Alfonso gets to take a shower…
BTW - Al - just because CNN announced it first doesn’t mean MSNBC copied them. Duh…

LOL
It’s pretty sad IMO.

Since I don’t know how to record CNN Pipeline, I think I’ll watch it and record MSNBC. I’m assuming NBC’s coverage was commercial-free five years ago, so I don’t see why anyone should be complaining. I wish they would ALL copy the idea; I wish they would ALL replay the coverage EVERY September 11th.

How are they going to do this though? There will be memorials on Monday to air, so I don’t see how they can air hours and hours of coverage.
I’m glad they are doing this(the YouTube clips with the original coverage from NBC on 9/11 was taken down), I just don’t know HOW exactly they are going to do it.

Did anyone record this to DVD? I set my recorder, but we had a power failure while I was at work, and I missed it.
I would love to get a copy of this program. Can anyone help me?
Thank you very much!
