Cooper to CBS Mornings?
TV Squad’s Bob Sassone is looking skeptically at the idea that Anderson Cooper would jump to CBS Mornings…
I think Anderson Cooper is good, but would he want to give up the harder news that he does at CNN to host a morning show again, especially after early morning gigs on World News Tonight and American Morning? I’m not convinced, though I think it would finally give CBS’ morning program the personality it needs.

This should be a NO-GO. He is going to bomb out.

He’d actually be quite good at it (I’ve seen him subbing for Regis), but it’s sure not clear to me that he would want the gig. I presume the money would be enormous, but after the first couple million, how much more money is motivating? And he can’t seem to stay in the studio more than a few days at a time, and while one can anchor a NEWS show from just about anywhere, it’s hard to picture hosting a morning chitchat show from, say, Kabul (where he is now), or Congo.
In any event, it sounds like pipe-dreaming on the part of the fine folks at CBS.
