Cooper to CBS Mornings?

TV Squad’s Bob Sassone is looking skeptically at the idea that Anderson Cooper would jump to CBS Mornings…

I think Anderson Cooper is good, but would he want to give up the harder news that he does at CNN to host a morning show again, especially after early morning gigs on World News Tonight and American Morning? I’m not convinced, though I think it would finally give CBS’ morning program the personality it needs.

  1. This should be a NO-GO. He is going to bomb out.

  2. He’d actually be quite good at it (I’ve seen him subbing for Regis), but it’s sure not clear to me that he would want the gig. I presume the money would be enormous, but after the first couple million, how much more money is motivating? And he can’t seem to stay in the studio more than a few days at a time, and while one can anchor a NEWS show from just about anywhere, it’s hard to picture hosting a morning chitchat show from, say, Kabul (where he is now), or Congo.

In any event, it sounds like pipe-dreaming on the part of the fine folks at CBS.
