CNN Election Express Yourself will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for Friday, Oct. 6, and Saturday, Oct 7, and from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8. All times Mountain. The CNN Election Express Yourself tour offers wide-ranging information on current political issues and allows visitors to express their own political views through “shout out” video portraits, on-line interaction and numerous on-site activities, including political trivia and the chance to design personalized election memorabilia.
The Airstream also features an “Internet Café” that provides visitors with direct access to some of CNN’s most impressive online features. Visitors will be able to view CNN Pipeline, CNN.com’s premium live video news service; navigate CNN.com’s comprehensive election-focused news content; access CNN Exchange, CNN.com’s comprehensive user-generated content destination that features user-submitted video, audio, articles and graphics; and contribute to I-Report, compelling content captured by CNN viewers with personal cell phones, cameras or other devices.

Is this tour supposed to be an echo chamber for like minded CNN viewers?

This is obviously a reaction to Fox’s “Thank You” tour. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

You’re right Peter. Everything from programming to marketing and pr, CNN can’t seem to come up with one original idea.

CNN making a “Hot Air” stop? This is too easy!

Yes cella, the comments write themselves on this one.
Speaking of CNN’s outreach to amateur reporters, I-report, and the Daily show did a hilarious piece on the idea. It’s worth a watch.

No doubt about it, a copycat of FNC’s 10th anniversary tour.
Am not sure this would accomplish anything for CNN. A great waste of time, in my opinion.

Buck,
That was boisterous and great! Thanks!

I honestly hope all you people aren’t serious when you say this is a response to FNC’s 10th birthday tour! This was announced months ago and is an extension of the original Election Express that CNN had touring around the country in 2004. Hey, don’t let me get in the way of a good old CNN bashing fest (which is starting to become the norm with a couple of regular posters).
With all the above said, I don’t see how this will really enhance CNN’s coverage of the elections so it’s a thumbs down on the idea for me. I’d rather see more focussed reports on the election.

F10 - Get real. Fox’s thank you tour was announced months ago as well. Without a doubt, this is CNN doing a desperate rip off. Sad, really.

Peter - With respect, you need to get real and realise that CNN first did this 2 years ago with the Presidential election.
Using your logic (that these two things are remotely connected) one could say that Fox News Channel is copying CNN (who once again, did their Election Express tour two years ago).
