Monday’s Numbers…
Imus had a bigger than average morning yesterday. I’m sure these guys would say it was because Halperin was on pushing his new book. Olbermann had a big day beating Paula Zahn Now which also had a decent night.

Looks like Keith’s loony behavior and media love fests are starting to pay off.

Is that what it is? tanne has been warning (I mean predicting) these numbers. And this is all in the last week!

Anonymous, you should add in the 12midnight(9pm PST)replay of “Countdown” to the already incredible #s for MSNBC (within 50,000 of “O’Reilly, Culture Warrior”?!), and then you can really let out a “WOW”.
As for Imus, I actually saw some of his program Monday, and his rants against Woodward, Foley, Rep. Barton (something about funding for autism), included more name-calling in 10 minutes than Olbermann has ever used probably in his entire life (on or off the air).

Zahn wasn’t on air last night was she? I mean the show was but wasn’t John Roberts subbing for her?

There were two major stories on Monday. And one played into the old, previously stale “culture of corruption” strategy. Will people remember the cash in the freezer or the 16 year old male pages?
Everyone got the Amish girls bump; Countdown and Hardball got the male pages bump.
Anonymous, I just realized the GB initials thing. What is Glen Beck’s middle name?

The numbers are down for Fox And Friends, just as I knew they would be.
There is no way to replace the chemistry Brian, Steve and E.D. had.
But I will be watching anxiously to see what eventually happens.

Is E.D. pregnant?

Funny how the blogs light up when Olbermann has a decent ratings night by MSNBC standards, but are completely silent when he goes on a 5-night losing streak and finishes last in September. Yes, he even finished last in TVNewser’s “demo.”

Funny…I was thinking that whenever Olbermann is 3rd, 4th or once in awhile 5th on a given night, there are immediately at least 10 derogatory posts stating that his show is a mess, the worst thing in the history of television, he’s not a real journalist, he needs to be fired, etc., and the FOX ratings are touted as if that particular demographic, dropping or even flat, is a model for other networks to emulate.

It’s quite amusing to see how the Fox Fans are attempting to “spin” these ratings. “Wasn’t Paula Zahn off that night?” “It’s just the Amish girls/male pages bump.” Amazing.
To the Fox Fans, if Olbermann gets bad ratings, it’s always the bell of doom tolling for him. If he gets decent ratings, it’s always explained away with excuses. You do the math.

Welcome back Tanne!
How do you explain the blip? He’s been trending upward, and FNC has been trending downward, but this was a BIG single night blip.
