  1. Anderson Cooper - 742,000 viewers (197,000)

What a shame…his programming from Africa is absolutely amazing. Too bad Americans are more interested in who the father of Anna Nicole’s baby is, rather than the devestation in Africa :

  2. I watch this program from Africa with a heavy heart, hoping that this spot light will help to change things. Though it does not win the ratings game, it will stimulate giving to the aid groups. I will contribute immediately to as many as I can and also to the Diane Fossey Gorilla foundation.

  3. You’re both right, of course. He is over there covering a story of significance, yet very few people watch. It is in fact sad that more people are watching the situation regarding Anna Nicole.

  4. Agree with all three of you. Wonderful programming; says something about the taste of the viewing public that it didn’t win the hour(s).

  5. They need to take all of the aid money and dig for oil in Africa. Once they strike oil, the rest of the world will get involved with help.

  6. Returning to the topic, after a banner day on Monday, Keith Olbermann stumbled back into familiar territory; 4th both among 25-54 and total viewers.

  7. Olbermann wasn’t in on Tuesday, Amy Robach was filling in.

  10. I think you guys make too much of the daily ratings. What you are seeing is a picture for that day nothing indicative
of anything.Sometimes there are anomalies. That is why there
is no way to know for sure if MBNBC’s Countdown is really
growing this fast.Yes, KO is having a good couple of weeks
but will this continue for a couple of months.I am not sure
if KO is just putting on a show for ratings or if it is
the real deal.I for one find MSNBC hard to watch these days.
It has become too much of a circus.Consider me a former fan
of Countdown. It was once a decent news show. I am not sure
what it is now.Same for MSNBC.Keep Nacny Grace in mind
for an analogy. The reason why I draw this comparision is
this: I am not sure either of them are bringing in newsies
or people tuning in for the cirus. At some point it becomes
to perdictable and not interesting.Since MSNBC will likely
feel the bulk of the 125 million NBC is going to cut, it is
scary to think what the channel will become. In recent weeks,
I have heard buzz about an MSNBC tuneout.KO has become
the same thing he accuses FNC of being (partisan). It is really sad in this day and time anyting for ratings.I must
say I never thought I would see the day when FNC would be
trying to add more news and MSNBC making itself a news parody.I’ve had enough, MSNBC is off my list like Headline’s primetime lineup.
