Olbermann tagged Worst Person In The World…

But not on Countdown…but by The Huffington Post over a lower 3rd incident that occurred on the program last night…

When I heard that last night, I didn’t get the specific reference, just assumed it was a lewd reference to her sexual history; I recall finding it a little coarse an insinuation, frankly. But apparently the reference had greater significance, as indicated by today by FishbowlNY who referred to it saying “And yes, that is what he meant.” FBNY didn’t link to anything there; I won’t either, because trying to sleuth it out through Google seared my eyeballs. All I can say is that it is a vile reference, and completely beneath what Olbermann holds himself out to be. Not exactly what one would call an Edward R. Murrow moment.

  1. Do they now know Bill O’Lielly? He’s the worst person in the world…or mayber roger ailes….or maybe george w bush. there’s alot more people that deserve that title other than olbermann.

  2. KO has been parading as the paragon of virtue and defender of justice and freedom. That’s fine, but if you are going to claim moral high ground, then conduct your personal life accordingly. Stop throwing stones at others if you can’t hold yourself to higher standards.

  3. Gee, I wonder if KO will launch into a “special comment” on the “attacks” on him.

He’ll probably claim the Huffpo piece is due to some pressure from Rove or something.

He’ll also probably claim that all of these recent dustups over his dealings with women are a plot by the White House.

  4. Goldfish:

In the world of Olby, he is above reproach. All of the recent dustups are, in his mind, a ploy by the “fat a$%rightwing monkeys”, as he is fond of calling them.

  5. I don’t envy the situation he is in right now, that’s for sure.

  6. I’ve heard him make deragatory comments about women before and it’s always bothered me about him. But I just read the comments at Huffington and the general opinion seems to be that since he was talking about Paris Hilton then he was perfectly okay in making disparaging remarks about her. Sorry, I can’t and don’t agree with that.

  7. TVN is silent.

  8. And who cares if TVN refuses to cover this garbage?

Sorry, Alison, I agree. Someone is going nuts and trying to paint Olbermann as a MISOGYNIST now (racist, anti-Semitic and horndog weren’t bad enough names to try to tag to him, I guess) by saying that his coverage of Paris Hilton is indicative of his respect for all women. Give me a break!

When it comes to Paris Hilton, he’s never made any bones about calling a ditzy slut a ditzy slut. But he doesn’t call her that because of her genitals; he calls her that because of her BEHAVIOR. And he says the same thing about male celebrities who are like her, so he’s not sexist at all.

And he DOES hold himself to higher personal standards. The only people who think he doesn’t are those stupid enough to believe every word of what they read on the gossip page without asking themselves what the agenda is behind it.

  9. Congratulations tanne, you earned your pay from KO today.

  10. I have always believed this punk is nothing more a hypocrite through and through. After his miserable performance in a one-night stand his partner described as
godawful, he now tries to calm his pitiful self by slamming somebody with insults through projecting his abject lack of manliness. What a beast! MSNBC ought to kick his butt and mouth out, and hard!

  11. It’s no defense, tanne, to say he only insults those it’s PC to insult.
However, I’m glad he’s decided to do his own “Talking Points Memo.” And his #s are up. That’s great. He must be doing something right.

  12. OverHere, I don’t get paid by KO. Now how do you explain away my opinions?

RGL, you really have to stop believing everything you read in fishwrappers and start reading real newspapers. Or is it just that you’re obsessed with fairytales about the sex lives of people you happen to hate?

Erljr, KO doesn’t insult Paris Hilton because it’s “politically correct.” He insults her because she deserves it! Oh, and those aren’t “Talking Points Memos” he’s doing. He has no need whatsoever to imitate Bill O’Reilly, thank God. And his numbers are up because people are finally waking up to the lies the White House has been telling them lo these many years. Good!

  13. Tanne must be taking something to make him hallucinate the way he does. If he means the liberal trash media like the NY Times, yes I don’t read those. His judgment must have been warped that much for him to peddle such junk. Let’s just hope his neural connections have not been stripped for good.
