Wow, some very interesting numbers…. Also I think it would be safe to say AC360 gave Greta a thumpin’ last night!

Last night, everyone was talking about the politics of the day except Greta.
She lasted about two or three minutes before she said,(I paraphrase) “Young mother found in a pool of blood.”
Then it was one murder story after another. Don’t her producers get it? She is so over!

Look at Larry King’s numbers! Wow!

I normally just read the comments on this site but I must admit that CNN had a very strong night. Is this the beginning of something new for CNN or is it too early to tell? Continue to eat fox’s lunch CNN!!!

Yeesh, how did AM with the snoozy O’Brian’s make such a dent. I am assuming it was a flook due to election day being the day before.
I can’t imagine that continuing to be the norm with those two at the helm.

Greta is flip-flopping cella. One night politics, the next night crime. Her viewers aren’t sure what to expect, so they turn to something they can depend on.
And Vern, if you’ve been watching and reading, CNN has been trending up, and FNC down. I think the current #s come from the Democrat’s celebrating. I think they’ll go back to pre-election #s within a week; but if the trend of the past few months continues, FNC could be #2 in a year.

Greta has to come to terms with that the fem fatale stories are growing old on viewers.
Viewers are tired of the missing/white/female, tragi-drami’s. They are waking up to the fact, that many many tragedies befall families each and every day, and that plucking one out of thousands, just to report on, ad nauseum is getting to be well, redundant.
Nancy Grace is suffering from the same down-turn of her ratings, because of that.
While this genre of the missing white affluent female, was the “Get”, for a few years (beginning with the ramsey case, through the O.J case, all the way to the holloway case), viewers are growing bored from the constant selection of just ONE families tragedy, that is culpitated to important BREAKING NEWS. They are also waking up to the fact, that its the only pretty white female cases, that get played nightly as NEWS, when there are many, many ethnic families, with missing loved ones, that don’t get even 5 second air time.
These type of cases are better shown on Court TV…that is their genre, and save the cable NEWS stations for just what the purpose is, is to report on NEWS of the day.

I do agree with you on Greta erljr. Her crime stories during a week like this make absolutely no sense.

A few decent nights for CNN and suddenly they’re winning? Honestly guys - get a clue!

I think Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blizter have made an
impact in the last couple of days.FNC was slowly planning
for LAB(life after Bush). Now they have to come up with a
plan for life with the Dems for 2 years. What would happen
if there is a potical shift has been written about for
countless times.I guess now we will all find out.BOR
is still getting his audience(he has built up a loyal folowing).I am not sure it is the same for H &C and Greta.
FNC used to constantly top CNN by a mil easily in prime
time that has happened a lot less this year.It is no
doubt things are likely to tighten up.And it is likely to
play out up into 2007 when the Dems take control.I think
it is safe to say that CNN,FNC and MSNBC are already looking
to 2007.Something is definitely going on with viewers.Look
for everyone to upgrade.I will say it again it is a generational thing.CNN looks 21st cnetury FNC and MSNBC
need to give themselves a fresher look.I think the one
likely to come out on top is the one who brings in the
most diverse viewers of all political stripes.I think it
speaks volumes that the first people that Nancy Pelosi and
Jim Webb talked to were at CNN.I don’t think to many
Dems will appear on Countdown it would make them seem
too partisan. So look for Hardball to get the Dems.FNC will
likely use Brit Hume and Shep, they are viewed as less partian in their politics.

Gimme a break! If anything, CNN should be doing better than just coming close to FNC.
