Thursday’s Numbers.
O’Reilly was big for FNC last night and contributed to FNC’s strong performance for the night. MSNBC fell to HLN in the Demo as Scarborough Country (minus Joe Scarborough, who was off) couldn’t hold on to a lot of Countdown’s viewers and MSNBC’s doc block wasn’t very strong. Fox and Friends Demo number was 1,000 viewers short of American Mornin’s Total Viewer number.

I wonder if Lou Dobbs will edge Brit Hume in the demo next time ratings are released?

Ouch @ AC360 :

Ouch for PZN, too; her numbers have been pretty miserable for most of the week.

The best thing about last night cable news is that I have FNC in my car. I didn’t have to look at Alan Colmes’ face. But I got to hear him get slapped around by Mark Furman! Perfect.
Comment by cella — November 17, 2006 @ 8:22 pm
How pathetic is it that a game show, on CNBC no less, barely got beaten by KO and PZN? In the demo it was ridiculously close.
So much for touting KO’s ratings.
Comment by jerziegrl — November 17, 2006 @ 10:14 pm
cella, Colmes is just getting worse and worse! The first words out of his mouth yesterday were an attack on Mark Fuhrman! BTW, Colmes thinks that O.J. is innocent!

Shepard Smith’s numbers are not good by Fox standards. He has less young audience than Brit Hume, which means his audience is ancient. Old Grandmas who buy denture products watch this show.
Comment by Pete — November 18, 2006 @ 10:07 am
Yes, Missy. I heard Sean talking about the chapter in Alan’s book that professes “O.J. is innocent.”
And I agree that Alan is getting worse by the day. When I heard him verbally attack Lt. Governor Steele, that did it. I switch to Joe Scarborough when Alan comes on. Then switch back for Sean.
If I were Sean I would be raising the roof over this loser.

All I can say is that H&C continues to dominate primetime with its strong numbers. If Alan was so intolerable, how would you explain the success of the show? Sean and Alan are a brand, without one or other other, there is no brand and no show.
Comment by KOLABEAR — November 18, 2006 @ 12:07 pm
Pete: Maybe if Shep’s show would bring back the mocking entertainment news “G Block” segment, his demo would go back up.
Comment by Steve — November 18, 2006 @ 12:18 pm
LOL, Hannity is the SHOW. They can get rid of Colmes and the ratings wouldn’t take a hit at all. Put in Kirsten Powers instead.
Comment by Lurker — November 18, 2006 @ 12:21 pm
Actually Sean Hannity did have a kind-of-audition as a solo act on FNC a couple Sundays ago. Can’t remember the title: maybe “Sean Hannity on America” or “Sean Hannity’s America”
Comment by erljr — November 18, 2006 @ 1:32 pm
Welcome back, Lurker! I hope you are rid of that ELECTION HANGOVER.
Comment by Terance — November 18, 2006 @ 1:42 pm
LOL, Yea I’m just recovering from alittle election depression hahahaha. Finally back to watching some FNC, Drudge, TVNewser and ICN etc… Now I sort of know how Dems felt in 2000 and 2004 although not quite cause that was for the Presidency lol.
Comment by Lurker — November 18, 2006 @ 2:36 pm
Lurker-I feel your pain but I knew this past summer we were in for a tough election cycle this time. Maybe, had the President let Rumsfeld go back in May or June we could have at least saved the Senate. But, between Iraq, Katrina, $3.00+ gasoline, a lot of pork spending, and the Jack Abramoff/Mark Foley scandals, voters had enough. Hopefully we can come back in ‘08.
As for Alan Colmes, I like the guy but I’ve always believed he was better on radio than on TV. Kirsten Powers, Susan Estrich, Neal Gabler, or Bob Beckel would go at Sean much better I think.
Comment by Scott — November 18, 2006 @ 3:00 pm
The only one on your list who could do better than Alan is Neal Gabler. We’ve all seen Bob Beckel - he doesn’t seem to even believe his own liberal views.
Comment by erljr — November 18, 2006 @ 7:37 pm
Someone seems to be seriously lobbying for Kirsten Powers, but she really doesn’t rate well.

Don’t have money to buy a building? Worry not, just because it’s real to take the business loans to resolve such kind of problems. Thus take a short term loan to buy all you require.
