Wallace lands Kerry…

The Boston Herald’s Inside Track hears that Chris Wallace will be interviewing John Kerry on Sunday…

That FOX Newsman Chris Wallace has the first post-idiotic-Iraq-comment interview with Sen. John Kerry and it will air this Sunday. Kerry, as you know, was forced off the campaign trail a few weeks back after he warned a group of students that if they neglected their education they might “get stuck in Iraq,” much to the displeasure of troops, vets and Republicans.

Note to Inside Track: Imus on MSNBC got him the day after he put his foot in his mouth, though that interview wasn’t scheduled in advance I believe. So, technically, the Wallace interview isn’t the first interview since those remarks.

UPDATE: Newsday’s Verne Gay blogs more info (Gay follows in The Herald’s footsteps incorrectly tagging this as Kerry’s first post gaffe interview)…

Kerry will sit down for his first post-gaff interview on Sunday with Wallace, who explained in a phoner a few minutes ago that “he’s been on the side of a milk cartoon for almost three weeks now…and will come out for the first time” on “FNS.”

“No ground rules,” says Wallace, who adds that “I expect we’ll go over the whole controversy and what damage it may have done to his running for president in 2008.”

  1. I had the impression that the Imus interview WAS scheduled in advance. He actually had several public appearances before he finally was convinced to apologize. The most seen appearance: when he said “I apologize to no one.” And when he did apologize, it was only in writing, and only to those who “were offended.”
Inside Track should have said it was the first post-idiotic-apologize to no one-comment interview.

  2. Kerry is like the proverbial bad penny. Jeez I get sick of his arrogant, droning voice. Why doesn’t he go meet with some communists or something?

  4. LOL! I am shocked that anyone from the Dem’s would be going back to FNC, let alone, Wallace after all their whining and crying about the Clinton interview.

It will be interesting how Kerry will spin this.

  5. Kerry has a hard time admitting fault and expressing remorse. That is why his “apology” was written instead of spoken. This is an awesome “get” sophia.

  6. jerziegrl: But after blasting Fox News for the Bill Clinton interview, Howard Dean cheerfully returned to FNS last week.

  8. Sophia and cella - get a life.
If you read the papers at all, you would know this interview is a big deal.

  9. While I’m certainly not a fan of John Kerry, I’ll probably watch. I’m curious to see what Kerry says about the botched joke and if he is delusional enough to still attempt another run in ‘08.

jerziegrl, I too am surprised that any Democrats are willing to subject themselves to “partisan hack jobs” from FNC and Wallace. What a joke, some people can’t accept that FNC is equal opportunity for both parties.

  10. Ira - You never seem to have all of your facts. It gets tiresome. Dean blasted FOX news and then said the only decent person there is Chris Wallace. Dean will always talk to Wallace, he makes it a point to separate him from Fox.

  11. Asha, you sound like a superciliuos jerk to me.
If I read the papers???? Is that where you are living? In the world of newspapers? If that is where you get your information, you better get a new life.
How old are you - 13?
There is no use wasting more time responding to you.

  12. Peter, I have seen Howard Dean everywhere on FOX, not just with Chris Wallace.

  13. I am sure Kerry is just trying to scrape himself from the hole his big mouth dug. He has shown his true colors enough that there is no interview in the world that could help him in his long lost Presidential contentions.

I love the fact that these guys (Dean, Kerry, etc) bash Fox’s “pandering to the right”, but will use Fox when they see the need, only to turn around in a week or so to just bash them again. They speak out of both sides of their mouths.

Asha - who is this a big deal to? Maybe Chris Wallace, but not to most of American. I highly doubt anyone who even likes Kerry watches FNC, and those who do watch FNC, for the most part, know Kerry for who he really is and could care less. I agree with Cella and Sophia, this is nothing but a snooze fest.
