I thought that the Olbermann fans were screaming up and down when he got threats that only right-wingers would do something like that. So what explains this exactly?

What explains it? Simple. It’s Olbermann himself sending the letters, sitting on the deep side of his bathtub.
It’s a joke… it’s a joke… don’t get all huffy… we all know Olbermann can’t actually read or write.

I wonder, considering the subject matter, if we’ll see something on Countdown about this. There’s the “Fox police,” but there’s also the “letter in the mail” thing.

Countdown comment on this? Not likely. On OlbyPlanet hate mail, death threats, and the like all come from “right-wing hate”. Threats like these that come from left-wing precincts do not exist, and are not reported, let alone commented on.
