  1. I think I’m noticing a drop in Shepard Smith’s Fox Report numbers ever since they started the late night repeat. I would like to see the numbers for the repeat to see if that’s where the dropped viewers are going. Thoughts?

  2. Abrams and staff must be doing something right.

  3. I think Blitzer, Beck, or both have been siphoning viewers.

  4. daubermaus - let’s get one thing straight. trace was sitting in for shep on friday.

  5. Wow, FNC had a huge night and Fridays aren’t even their best night.

  6. According to KO, Abrams has nothing to do with primetime. He’s only dayside, according to Keith’s comments in Radar. Hmmmm…

  7. LOL. Goldfish you beat me to it, I was going to post the same thing!

  9. Can CNN and MSNBC get any closer?

  10. Terance - I’ve been watching the other numbers, that’s why I’m curious - I’m not seeing as much of a gain for them.

Clara - Yes Trace was on Friday night, and yes numbers drop when he subs. I was questioning an overall drop, night by night, not just Friday. The total viewer numbers seem to be there - but the demo is down.

Having asked around, the most credible explaination I recieved was that younger (non-east coast) viewers are waiting to watching the repeat.

I thought I would throw this thought out and find out what people here think.

  11. It’s funny you should say that #10; I was wondering as well why his numbers were down when I thought his reporting from Jordan last week was very good.

Comment by Enquiring Minds Want to Know — December 4, 2006 @ 10:20 pm

  12. First off, Jordan turned into a non-story. Everyone sent their anchors, everyone did the news from outside, but there was minimal actual news.

I have the opposite argument daubermaus. I live on the west coast; and I used to watch Brit Hume at 9pm. Now I either watch or record the 3pm live showing.

It appears from the numbers above that, at least overall, FNC doubled it’s closest competitor. We’ll see if it lasts; and we’ll see if FNC ever gets back to beating the other four combined.
