Headline Prime profile…
The New York Times’ Noam Cohen has a profilie of the new Headline Prime block on Headline News…
Along with Nancy Grace, a lawyer whose show appears at 8 p.m., Mr. Beck is part of a nearly two-year-old experiment to reinvent Headline News from a series of quick news summaries into a brasher, personality-driven talk-TV format along the lines of Fox News’s evening line-up.
So far, the experiment is a success. Since his arrival in May, Mr. Beck has increased the ratings in his 7 p.m. time period 60 percent among all viewers, and 84 percent among viewers aged 25 to 54. Ms. Grace has largely retained the triple-digit percentage increases in her time period from the year before.
While the daytime ratings at Headline News have grown a modest 10 percent in that prime demographic since 2004, Headline Prime’s ratings are up 48 percent, although Headline Prime still trails CNN, MSNBC and Fox News, by far the leader.

Beck’s ratings increase has been astounding, and I think this is the first time we’ve seen the MSM write about it. It’s about time he gets some credit!

Where was the NYT fact checker on this story? FNC has been using the “op-ed”in their primetime lineup for years!

This is so predictable of CNN and of TW. The only way for a Time Warner property to meet with minimal success is by aping Fox. How pathetic.

Who’s taking bets on this horse race? Beck is giving Chris Matthews a run for his money. I give Beck 6 months to start beating Matthews…anyone else in?

Beck’s show isn’t bad. And this is coming from an independent. Maybe FNC should ask themselves why I can watch Beck with no problem but avoid Hannity like salmonella.

CNN has come up with a way to seriously compete with Fox without putting their integrity in jeopardy. Finally. It took long enough.

I agree with Havery. MSNBC may be beating CNN in prime demo but it is only a matter of time before Headline News passes them both.

I’m in, too! When that happens the cheers will go and the dancing will be more joyous!
It has been so great to watch Glenn evolve.
