DeNiro and Damon on Hardball College Tour…
MSNBC announced this afternoon that the Hardball College Tour continues on Monday December 18th at George Mason University when Robert DeNiro and Matt Damon join host Chris Matthews…
The “Hardball College Tour” wraps the year with special guests, Academy Award winners Robert DeNiro and Matt Damon, from George Mason University’s Center for the Arts. DeNiro and Damon join Matthews to discuss their new film, “The Good Shepherd,” which opens on December 22nd. The “Hardball College Tour” telecasts on Monday, December 18 at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (ET).
Robert DeNiro has produced, directed and also stars in “The Good Shepherd,” a powerful story about the birth of the Central Intelligence Agency amidst the intrigue of the Cold War. A prolific and acclaimed actor who has perfected the portrayal of brooding, intense characters in such films as “Raging Bull” and “The Godfather II,” DeNiro stars as General Bill Sullivan, the U.S. Army official who helped create the first U.S. intelligence service. Matt Damon, also known for his portrayal of complex characters, stars as the film’s protagonist Edward Wilson, an early recruit to the secretive new agency.
DeNiro and Damon will spend the hour discussing their film and, in the tradition of the “Hardball College Tour,” will take questions from the students in the audience. The “Hardball College Tour” has had a busy fall season, with stops at Iowa State University with Senator John McCain (R-Az), Georgetown University with Academy Award winners Robin Williams and Barry Levinson and most recently, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with former Senator John Edwards.
