Duke Rape charges dropped for three…

The cable nets are all over the story that some of the charges have been dropped in the Duke rape case. I’m getting reports that FNC was first with the news. Can anyone confirm?

UPDATE: Break in times…(courtesy of Johnny Dollar checking his DirectTV NewsMix)

FNC - 12:22
CNN - 12:26

UPDATE 2: One would likely expect to see MSNBC GM and former Duke alum Dan Abrams on the air today for this story as he has been a vocal critc of how the DA has handled this case. However if one did think that one would be wrong since Abrams is probably already in South Africa for Christmas. Maybe he’ll phone in…

UPDATE 3: Yup, Abrams phoned in..

Daryn Kagan interview…

The Boston Globe’s Don Aucoin interviews Daryn Kagan as part of a larger story on “good news”…

After many years in the TV news business, whose unofficial motto is ‘‘If it bleeds, it leads,’’ Kagan knows she is bucking the media tide. Her website has already drawn ridicule, and she says she has been told that good news doesn’t sell. She doesn’t buy it. ‘‘If those people don’t want to come and feel good, that’s fine,’’ she says. ‘‘If you want to feel bad about the world, there are plenty of media sources out there. But there’s not a lot of sources out there for people who want to feel good.’’
