2006 Numbers: Program ranker…

Here is the 2006 program ranker. FNC had 14 of the top 15 shows in cable news in 2006. The only CNN show in the top 15 was Larry King. MSNBC’s highest ranking was Countdown, which landed outside the top 20…

  1. Am I wrong… or are ALL of FNC’s Shows ranked HIGHER than ALL of MSNBC’s, HLN’s, and CNBC’s?

    Wow.

  2. kinda depressing when the number one ‘news’ program is bill oreilly. but then again none of the shows in the top 3 deserve to be categorized ‘news’.

  3. #2, true! It does seem a little questionable to include commentary/debate programs under “news”

  4. Dave- By that logic (and I’m not totally in disagreement with you) most the shows on the list would have to change their “News” category. Their could be a “Discussion/Debate News” category and a “News/Documentary” category.

But there would only be about 6 shows in the “News/Doc” category… and FNC would still win both categories. Either way you list it, FNC is still beating the pants off the other networks.

  5. INB, very good points. Most of the “news” programs are actually not news at all, but discussion and commentary of current events. But why is it just Fox that is singled out for this mischaracterization?

And why are the libs still so whiney? You’d think they’d be thrilled with their people taking over Congress tomorrow.

  6. Missy- I think the reason FNC gets singled out, is because they were really the pioneer of this style of news debate. They were the first ones to prove that this style could be successful on cable news.

As for whining libs… it’s because not just congress they want… it’s the world!

(And by the world, of course, we mean the area defined as within the current United States borders, minus area’s returned to Mexico and native peoples, and not to include area’s currently outside the USA boarders, as to not appear imperialistic …..kidding… kidding! it’s a joke, don’t get all huffy.)

  7. INB, I’m sending you a bill for the iced tea I just spit all over my keyboard while reading your last statement… ;)

And I agree with everything you and Missy said in your comments.
