Airstrike in Somalia…

MSNBC was the first cable net to break the news, via NBC News, of the Somalia airstrike by the U.S. around the 7:10 pm hour (at the first break of the Hardball 7pm repeat) with David Schuster covering the story and Jim Miklaszewski reporting from the Pentagon. FNC followed at 7:22 pm and CNN at around 7:23 (might have been 7:22 as well).

CNN has stayed on the story since then while FNC continued with The Fox Report and MSNBC stayed with the Hardball repeat but kept a lower third up detailing the strike as “Breaking News”.

UPDATE: TVNewser reports that CBS News was first to break the story and NBC News followed suit later.

  4. Somehow I get the feeling that if FNC was 1st the you know who’s here will be saying it’s not breaking news or the Bush Admin gave them a heads up lol.
