Rivera vs. Olbermann…

Now apparently Geraldo Rivera is ready to lay the smackdown on Keith Olbermann according to Taking Names’ Scott Maxwell. Rivera was on the air at a Florida radio station when the subject of giving troop positions on the air during the Iraq War came up, which Rivera apparently blames Olbermann for making a mountain out of a mole hill over.

But then, with the Monsters helpful prodding, Geraldo went a step further, leaving no doubt about what he was saying. He called Olbermann a coward — specifically a “[female part of the anatomy] who wouldn’t walk across the street against the red light.”

He then said he was ready to fight him, saying: “I would make a pizza out of him.”

Oh, and before leaving the topic, Geraldo offered an example of a TV talker who’s a “real man” … that would apparently be Montel Williams

  1. KO & Dan Patrick discussed this briefly on the radio today. Patrick asked him why O’Reilly, Limbaugh & Rivera all want to challenge him. (I didn’t think O’Reilly & Limbaugh had). KO asked Patrick if he thought he could take all 3 of them. Patrick said maybe Limbaugh.

  3. This is great news. Now there will be more than one taking on KO at FNC. Bill and Geraldo - works for me.

  4. As much as I like to mock Geraldo for Al Capone’s vault, at least he has gone to hot zones. Yet the MSM lauds the “brave” Olbermann for talking from the safety of an American TV studio.

  5. Rivera has previously zinged both KO and Scarborough (for their remarks about Katie Couric) on “Geraldo at Large.”

  6. Yawn, Rivera is a hack. I mean he hosted a trashy daytime talk show.

  7. Mike… doesn’t that mean we’d also have to discount Phil Donahue and Jerry Springer… they’re liberal heroes!

  8. What was the story about Geraldo and ABC News and 20/20 from all those years ago?

  9. Beckham, I’m no Geraldo fan, but he’s had a legal program on CNBC and been a war correspondent for Fox since that time. And I’m behind him 100% in this case.

  10. Olberman will wilt like a dying flower before Geraldo. Did I hear Geraldo telling him he has no b…s? That sounds like a knockout punch.

  11. He has still discredited himself in my opinion and when did I say anything about Donahue and Springer. If you want to place me as a partisan hack you’re very wrong. I don’t support either of them, but Geraldo is a moronic douche bag.

  12. Reminds me of a few years back when Rivera made equally crude comments about Aaron Brown.

  13. Maybe someone will show true mercy on KO and return him to the sports desk where his 1 watt light really shines.

  14. Again, I say Go Geraldo, Go!

  15. Mike… didn’t say Donahue or Springer were YOUR heroes… just liberal heroes. Which they are. But they’re also trash TV hosts. So their is precedent for trash tv hosts to go onto legit news and politics, apparently without scrutiny.

Frankly I agree with you. I think all 3 have little to no credibility in anything but… trash TV.

  16. I’m glad so far CNN is staying out of this latest bickering. Not holding my breath on that though. This is all so tiresome.I’m expecting to see “Breaking News”alerts on MSNBC and Fox News pretty soon. ” Olbermann picks on Bill O’Reilly” “Rivera calls Olbermann a bad name”. Ok, I’m joking there but just wish they would all grow up and spend their energy on actually reporting news or in the case of these guys at least doing commentary on important topics.

Jerry Springer was a politician before going into trash TV.
