More FNC changes…
Greg Gutfeld’s late, late night program is not the only change FNC is making . . . ICN has learned that the net’s daytime line-up will also have a different look in the coming weeks, including the addition of a popular new face . . . Megyn Kelly.
Here’s how the line-up will look from 9a-12p:
Bill Hemmer & Megyn Kelly will take over from 9am-11am
E.D. Hill will move to the 11 am hour
Jon Scott shifts to 12-1pm
The rest of the afternoon schedule remains the same…
The Live Desk with Martha MacCallum at 1pm
Jane Skinner at 2
Studio B with Shepard Smith stays at 3pm

Wow that’s interesting. Is Megyn moving to NYC then? I’m glad to see Bill Hemmer getting more airtime.
Any idea when this will start Spud?

Great news for Megyn! Now I can watch FNC from 9am-11am. When is ED’s contract up? She can’t be happy about getting “double switched” within a couple of months.
Comment by Terance — February 1, 2007 @ 4:45 pm
E.D.’s getting pushed around I believe!
Comment by Olivia — February 1, 2007 @ 5:04 pm
Wonder if this is the end of “FOX Online” - a great idea for a show but never really took off how it should. Like the idea off Megyn and Bill working together - I think a two hour stint with two anchors and regular segments will make viewers tune in more often!
Guess that rules out Megyn for the weekend live role then!
Comment by Paul Tomlinson — February 1, 2007 @ 5:12 pm
I too agree that E.D. seems to be getting a raw deal. I really enjoyed her on the morning show and miss being able to watch her. Sure wish someone could shed some light on what caused the shake-up!
Comment by Lisa — February 1, 2007 @ 5:51 pm
What about the fates of such on-air personalities as Uma Pemmaraju and Patti Ann Browne (I know that Patti Ann has recently signed a new five-year deal with Fox News)?
Comment by Bob — February 1, 2007 @ 6:28 pm
They’re not blonde.
Comment by Steve — February 1, 2007 @ 6:40 pm
I think E. D. Hill is the worst anchor I have seen on Fox. Her voice is kinda like she needs to clear her throat all the time but mostly her delivery is just so awful. She has to dramatize every story and tries to make everything about “her” and “her views.” They cannot get rid of her soon enough in my opinion. She was okay early in the morning when she didn’t have a script but she is bad delivering from a teleprompter. Megyn Kelly is good and obviously smart but I think she needs to soften a little bit. She looks kind of cold and a little big mean whenever she does a story. I hope she works out. Would love to see Molly Hennenberg anchor. She is cute and funny too.
Comment by sophia — February 1, 2007 @ 7:03 pm
I like E. Hill and I have watched her since the beginning of Fox and Friends. I hope Fox is being fair to her. If not, shame on you and I hope she ends up on The view when they dump Rosie and she takes her place. I also like Gretchen, but where is Fox’s loyalty.
Comment by cathy — February 1, 2007 @ 7:16 pm
This will be interesting, though I will miss waking up with Jon Scott in the morning as I rush out the door for the bus. Nevertheless, if E.D. Hill can just be blown into oblivion, giving her a radio show or something, that would be the ultimate improvement to FNC!
Comment by Chris — February 1, 2007 @ 7:23 pm
Yeah, E.D. has gotten way too opinionated, they should give her a show on FOX News Radio instead of something on TV, though I’m not certain when they could fit it in.
I’m excited to see Megyn get this chance, as a fellow female DC lawyer I’m definitely rooting for her!
Comment by OverHere — February 1, 2007 @ 7:30 pm
Also, I am just hoping and praying this means new graphics finally, I haven’t liked the ‘06 FNL since they were released! When is this expected? Monday?
Comment by Chris — February 1, 2007 @ 7:36 pm
FNC is never afraid to try something new. I’m a little puzzled why Jon has been shifted but I’m sure he’ll do just fine where he ends up.
In regards to E.D., I feel she is more a personality than a host - I think her strengths are with the ad-lib and needs to be anchoring a show. I don’t think she looks comfortable on FNL… Perhaps a dayside type of show would work best for E.D.?
Comment by F101 — February 1, 2007 @ 8:11 pm
My thinking has long been that E.D. WAS “Fox & Friends.” Even though Gretchen Carlson’s OK, my thinking is that the Fox News Brain Trust made a serious mistake replacing E.D. Hill on “F & F.”
Comment by Bob — February 1, 2007 @ 8:33 pm
cathy, wow. Moving E.D. to “The View” That would be television worth watching! I bet it would come to fisticuffs real quick.
Comment by ImNotBlue — February 1, 2007 @ 8:43 pm
I agree with Bob - ED was best on a show like F&F. From what I’ve seen of the current threesome, Steve and Brian talk all over Gretchen and don’t seem to show her the respect they showed ED…I find it embarassing to watch at times.
Comment by Gab — February 1, 2007 @ 8:57 pm
ED sounds like she has to make every word count so stays on each of them for far too long and I agree her opinions dominate too much. Glad to see changes the quicker they dump her the better. @Chris FOX News has the crappiest graphics of any of the cable channels. Expecting anything good would lead to disappointment.
Comment by Mike Beckham — February 1, 2007 @ 9:04 pm
Wow, This is going to be interesting. Bill and Megyn? I like them all, I just don’t see why they are making these changes. Remember the saying “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”.
Oh, And I also prefer E.D. on Fox and Friends. It was a perfect 3 some.
Comment by Noelle — February 1, 2007 @ 9:17 pm
Sorry to see Jon Scott moved. He was good at his job and has such class. Was a mistake to move E.D. Hill. She was so good with the trio. Hope things work out for her. Megan is smart, but needs to soften a little. Wish they would find a good spot for Todd Conner and also bring back Laurie Dhue.
Comment by Jeff — February 1, 2007 @ 9:19 pm
The downside: It is likely that her studio stint will keep Megyn Kelly away from her solid field reporting on the Duke Lacrosse case and doings at the Supreme Court.
Count me as the rare ED Hill fan as I’m usually watching her at that hour with Jon Scott.
Comment by Ira — February 1, 2007 @ 9:33 pm
I agree with most that E.D. was better on F&F. Do you think these changes have anything to do with the ratings that came out that showed the daytime programming was off a little?
Comment by CJ — February 1, 2007 @ 11:23 pm
Chris and Overhere - E.D. Hill is already on a radio show. She’s a co-host at least twice a week.
Comment by erljr — February 1, 2007 @ 11:31 pm
I like the way Hemmer and E.D. play off each other. I will wait and see how Bill and Megan are together. I hope he can get her to smile.
Comment by news fan — February 1, 2007 @ 11:39 pm
That’s right erljr, I forgot about that. Hopefully these changes will spark something. news fan, I also like the way Hemmer and E.D. play off of each other, and I hope he and Megyn will work well together too.
Comment by OverHere — February 2, 2007 @ 12:04 am
erljr: With her new timeslot, ED will no longer be appearing on The Radio Factor.
Comment by Ira — February 2, 2007 @ 12:14 am
#22, I kind of already knew that, but I wish they would just permanently assign her to that job, instead of hosting FNL.
Comment by Chris — February 2, 2007 @ 1:53 am
Now E.D. is being moved to the 11am slot? It does seem she’s getting jerked around. And her lack of proper send off from F&F was a lousy way to treat her. But I have to admit that I don’t like her as anchor. She was better at F&F.
Comment by STP — February 2, 2007 @ 2:34 am
Ira, Hill’s staying in the same slot but only dropping the first hour, so she can still do the Radio Factor.
And Mike, I agree that FNC’s lower-thirds are horrible, but I think their show image graphics are pretty great. I can’t think of one single CNN or MSNBC show with good show graphics (even though MSNBC blows everyone else away with their lower-thirds). Newsroom? Situation Room? 360? Totally forgettable. Countdown and Hardball’s openings look like they were made in the early ’90s.
It would be pretty nice if FNL got a graphical overhaul soon, but I don’t think it’s likely since it hasn’t even been a year since the last change.
Comment by SuperNoxic — February 2, 2007 @ 3:53 am
E.D became obnoxiously opinionated after she began co-hosting on the radio Factor. I think this contributed to her getting the boot on F & F, since no one could get a word in edgewise.
Comment by spiffo — February 2, 2007 @ 8:05 am
Not too excited about these changes. Not big Megyn fan. I hope E.D. gets something else soon. Megyn is boring. I heard about the rumors about her and Brit Hume. Well it was true Kim Hume left Washington D.C. It’s why Brian Wilson replaced her. I really think FNC is doing everything it can to lose ratings and it is. Which is sort of good, since I disagree with a majority of it’s “fair and balanced” opinions. But not good in that MSNBC and CNN have nothing better on mornings. Unless you like a cranky old fool on MSNBC and dull talk on CNN. Well I hope FNC suffers more. This channel is getting to be as goofy as MSNBC. At least MSNBC is trying to find its way. I’ll give Megyn a try, but I don’t see nothing major from all this, ratings wise. FNC will get a huge attack from MSNBC as they move and change this. Then we will see. Also M&J will have no where to go when there joke of a show gets cancelled.
Comment by Brettfan — February 2, 2007 @ 9:40 am
I didn’t know E.D. was on the radio… I know that Brian Killimeade sometimes does stuff on Fox News Radio. Suprised about E.D….what times she on? why this move?
Comment by Brettfan — February 2, 2007 @ 9:53 am
to Chris….I hated the old graphics. Infact I hate The Fox Snooze Alerts. They need to never go back to the old graphics they sucked. The new ones are a bit better, but they could improve. MSNBC also has bad graphics. So it’s tit for tat.

Brettfan, Brian Kilmeade has a show on FOX News Radio from 9 am-12 noon every day with Judge Andrew Napolitano. It’s called Brian and the Judge.
Comment by OverHere — February 2, 2007 @ 10:32 am
E.D. certainly doesn’t have many fans on this board!
I liked her on F & F, but I thought she was extremely condescending to Brian much of the time. Other than that, I did like her very forceful way of voicing her opinion about things, and I believe it is truly a waste to just have her anchor a program.
Maybe they could give her her own program, even for a half hour, sometime throughout the day, prime time or weekend, or make her a permanent guest host for O’Reilly. But I actually believe she’s be great at hosting an opinion program.
And if she left Fox, she probably would do well on The View. I’ve probably watched The View a total of two minutes in my entire life, and it’s because those liberal women are so forceful they drown out that one moderate/conservative. I think E.D. would at least have a chance of putting forth the conservative POV.
Brettfan, I believe E.D. does so co-hosting with O’Reilly on his Radio Factor (I have never personally even heard his radio program but that’s what I’ve read).
Comment by Missy — February 2, 2007 @ 11:24 am
E.D. Hill is O’Reilly’s sidekick on his Radio Factor show noon to 2pm on the East Coast. She trades off the the sidekick spot with Lis Weihl (sp?) who has a legal background. O’Reilly chit-chats with them some, turns to them for an occasional opinion or for when he’s looking for affirmation of his own opinion.
Comment by STP — February 2, 2007 @ 11:26 am
ED is good and smart — I hope they find a spot for her commentary and quick sense of humor. Better that than news reading. And she is very attractive. Megyn is SO smart and good, she’ll figure out the new drill. And Bill H. is fantastic! I’ll love watching them in MST from 7-9.
Comment by Susan — February 2, 2007 @ 7:24 pm
I am just guessing of course, but I wonder if E.D. has purposely changed her style since being booted off Fox and Friends because maybe she thought she wasn’t being taken seriously? I liked E.D. on Fox and Friends. Gretchen’s ok, but it was much more lively with E.D. on there. They made a good trio. I did, however, sense some friction between E.D. and Brian, but I thought it went both ways. I don’t notice him acting that way now. I’ve been put-out ever since she got kicked off the show. I think it was disrespectful to do to her.
Comment by Olivia — February 3, 2007 @ 12:31 am
Megan does a great job reporting on legal issues-especially the Duke case. By the way, she has changed her last name from Kendall to Kelly. Did she get married (to Greg Kelly)???
Comment by Kevin — February 3, 2007 @ 10:57 am
Actually Megyn changed her name back to her maiden name, she just got divorced. I agree, E.D. was much too opinionated for that slot, I personally miss Brigitte Quinn.
The previous changes in the lineup have gotten mixed reviews, for instance, while Kelly Wright is an outstanding reporter, his coanchoring F&F weekend edition lends new meaning to the word, vapidity! Additionally, the partisanship is really getting out of hand, i.e. Steve Doucey bloviating on Barack Obama’s background, which was totally untrue. Maybe that’s why, the ratings are dropping.
Comment by Gary — February 3, 2007 @ 2:37 pm
#15 E.D. would be great on The View and it definitely would be Fair and Balance. E.D. can take on Barbara who is not fair and Joy who is not fair. I don’t like all the changes, but I will always watch Fox News. I was one of those people who absolutely hated CNN and MSNBC, they were the bias ones always. I do like Bill Hemmer, but sometimes (as the saying goes) “if it is not broken don’t fix it”. Hemmer should have taken the extra hour for Quinn.
Comment by cathy — February 4, 2007 @ 2:50 pm
LIked ED a lot on Fox and Friends, don’t think Gretchen Carlson is that great; put Kiran Chetry on Fox and Friends, since she already does the first hour anyway. Ratings would sky-rocket with Kiran, a favorite with many of us.
Comment by Robert Cohn — February 14, 2007 @ 5:34 pm
I am one of those who was very upset to see ED leave Fox and Friends and move later. Gretchen is OK but ED always had an opinion that I mostly agreed with. That was her strength, not reading a script.
Comment by Elaine — February 15, 2007 @ 9:26 am
I’m confused - does this means F & F will still be on in the mornings, but the show will be one hour shorter? F & F used to be on until 9 AM (central), now this new show is starting at 8 AM?
Comment by Jan — February 16, 2007 @ 12:33 pm
FNC is going to end up at the wrong end of the ratings scale with these changes. Kiran is GREAT, E.D. is boring and in the wrong spot, M. Kelly needs more training re: presentation. I will now watch Imus although I don’t like his politics. Colmes should have been sacked ages ago. He’s so very bad….
Comment by Nicholas L Culbreth — February 23, 2007 @ 7:48 am
I honestly would rather see Bill Hemmer, and only Bill Hemmer. I have no dislike for Kelly, I just prefer Hemmer
anchoring when I am watching. He is just as important as the days news to me. Since America Newsroom started, I have
been seeing more of Kelly, and less of Bill. I don’t
understand why Fox bosses feel the need to marry him off
to another anchor. If male viewers want to see an attractive blonde, there are plenty to choose from. They
can tape them and watch them later on. I just wish fox
would give me Bill, and only Bill for two hours, or as
it was before
I would bet a large sum of money that Hemmer would rather be alone also.
Comment by Jamie — March 1, 2007 @ 12:19 am
I too wish they would remove Megyn. Her attire is horrible. Most times her skirts are mid thigh. I believe she comes on too strong with interviews and most of the time just reitterates what someone else has just said
She needs to be behind a desk and then maybe she would be more believable.
Comment by Betty — March 27, 2007 @ 9:13 pm
Megyn and Kiran are the two best female reporters on Fox along with Molly Henneburg. E.D. is okay but Megyn and Kiran are my favorites….Ditch Alan Colmes…He’s not strong enough to be beside Sean.
Comment by John — April 18, 2007 @ 5:58 pm
Really enjoy Megyn and Bill in the a.m. I”m an MSNBC gal,
but tune them in every day while drinking my coffee.
Notice Megyn is showing u on outher FOX shows.
