Back to back fourth place finishes, followed by a third place finish for that bastion of journalism Keith Olbermann. Surely, a special-ed comment is on the way very, very soon.

I call Thursday in the ICN pool.
Comment by Alison — February 13, 2007 @ 6:44 pm
at least nothing so profoundly stupid as a “body language expert”
Comment by Keith — February 13, 2007 @ 7:02 pm
Yeah you’re right, Keith. Those oddball segments you air, the constant, one-sided bashing Bush in your first two segments and your obsession with Bill O’Reilly are brilliant journalistic segments.
Alison, I think panic will set in quicker and the special-ed comment airs Wednesday.

I just looked over at the Keith Contract Countdown at olbermannwatch and saw it is still up and running at this point. (Less than 15 days) What’s MSNBC waiting for? Don’t they know the baseball camps have opened? Forget O’Reilly in Iraq! Forget Anderson Cooper Everywhere! While others are doing their reports from the front lines! Our fearless leader must be able to do his exclusive reports from the foul lines!
And just who do they think they are at NBC? Giving Tiki Barber a big contract, and a spot on the Today show? Well, they just better get ready to cough up some BIG BUCKS to our own Edward R. Morrow!!!!!!

Where are all the people claiming Anderson Cooper is gaining and going to beat Greta? He’s so close! On another note, I’m with Alison on Thursday for Speshul Komment - Libby trial wraps up tomorrow. He’ll probably harp about The Great Leak Case.
Comment by Edward Schatz — February 13, 2007 @ 8:13 pm
Heh to Puck… Anderson’s currently in Brazil, looking at deforestation in the rain forests. And Keith is…?
Comment by Arthur — February 13, 2007 @ 8:13 pm
#6 - Anderson was off Friday; John Roberts was sub. So much for Brian’s contention that everyone’s just waiting for Anderson to be off so they can tune in to JR…
Comment by Arthur — February 13, 2007 @ 8:14 pm
Oops, I mean he was off Monday. *brain cloud*

This Dobermann guy is a coward. I tried to give that show 3-4 tries and everytime he’s always having a circle jerk agreeing with the person on Bush bashing, administration bashing or Republican bashing. This guy can’t debate that’s why he has people that agree with him on. He’s not quick/smart/brave enough to have someone like Ann Coulter or heck anyone that doesn’t agree with him on cause they’ll make him a fool on YouTube. All he has is his stupid special comments that takes him weeks and weeks to think up, write and rewrite till he gets it perfect for primetime. WOW, Who can’t do that?
Comment by Lurker — February 13, 2007 @ 8:22 pm
oh please, lurker, Ann Coulter couldn’t talk her way out of a paper bag. A wet one. All she can do is come up with cutesy ways to call people she doesn’t like traitors and sweep her hair around trying to call attention away from her prominent adams apple. She’s been made a fool of on so many shows it’s considered unsporting now.
Comment by Arthur — February 13, 2007 @ 8:50 pm
One thing to add, Lurker: Ever notice how his questions are longer than the answers he gets? Loaded questions.
Once again, The Factor’s DEMO beats everyone else’s TOTAL. And almost the same thing for the first rerun. I do give kudos to Cooper for going back to a place that gave him very low ratings last time. Substance over ratings means integrity. If only we could see that the other 51 weeks of the year.
The Olbermameter still counting down. The question we all hope will be answered: how much are the new NBC hierarchy going to waste?
Comment by erljr — February 13, 2007 @ 9:01 pm
I get it! It’s a put-on.
There’s a subtle distinction here that you seem to be missing (in comment #4), bigred. The subjects of Olbermann’s Oddball segments (as well as the subject of his brief segments about O’Reilly) are often stupid, as is the body language analysis on O’Reilly. But while Oddball is ABOUT the profoundly stupid, those body language segments ARE THEMSELVES profoundly stupid. The difference is that the stupid subject of the body language segment is being taken seriously by the show.
Unless….
Every now and then I wonder whether the Factor might be in a way brilliant. You know THE PRODUCERS? (I like the old one with Gene Wilder & Zero Mostel.) Remember that everyone at first hates the play SPRINGTIME FOR HITLER, until a man in the audience gets this idea: “I get it! It’s a put-on.” Then they see it as a wonderful farce. Sometimes I’m tempted to think of the Factor in those terms. Doesn’t matter whether it’s intended to be funny: there was no such intention by those putting on SPRINGTIME FOR HITLER.

The body language segment is stupid. I agree with you. However, your above statement could also apply to KO’s Special Comments.
