Hate to say it but total domination by FNC. Almost double the viewers in total day and triple in primetime with it’s nearest competiton. More then double in demo in primetime. Sorry libs no death of FNC.

Did larry King do a ANS story last night; i dont think so as his numbers aren’t that high- but i could be wrong.
Comment by Sam — February 15, 2007 @ 6:45 pm
Wow, Huge numbers for FOX!
Comment by Noelle — February 15, 2007 @ 6:52 pm
I think Larry King had Rudy Guiliani on his show last night
Comment by Lori — February 15, 2007 @ 6:54 pm
I don’t expect the death of FNC any time soon but do shake my heads over their high numbers. Only reason I can think of is liberal and moderate viewers are scattered around the other networks and FNC has the monoploy on conservative viewers.Wonder what would happen if another conservative network were around.
Comment by myview — February 15, 2007 @ 6:56 pm
Wow, H&C lost 1M in P2+ and 300K in the demo from BO’s lead-in..Was Hannity off again last night?
Comment by Terance — February 15, 2007 @ 7:00 pm
Sam, Rudy Giuliani was Larry’s guest last night.Tonight is another ANS night though.
Comment by myview — February 15, 2007 @ 7:00 pm
NBC’s press release was dead on. The “enormous popular” Keith Olbermann who hosts “one of the most watched programs on cable news” finishes third yet again overall and in the demo.
That’s 5 straight days of 3rd or 4th place finishes. They’re already getting their money’s worth in that new contract.
Comment by bigred — February 15, 2007 @ 7:05 pm
You can’t expect Hannity to keep all or most of BOR’s viewers. People tune in to watch BOR and when he’s done they’re done. H&C isn’t BOR. 2 mil is probably tops for H&C.
Comment by Lurker — February 15, 2007 @ 7:05 pm
Why does FNC continue to win the ratings war?
Left wingnuts keeping making bad arguments in multiple ways.
If only we coulda, woulda, shoulda ……..
Give it up, fellas. I know it’s sobering reading. But get used to it.
Comment by cella — February 15, 2007 @ 7:18 pm
Myview,
You have it wrong. FNC has the majority of conservatives & moderates. The other networks have the libs.
Moderates watch BOR because he presents different viewpoints and has guests from all over the spectrum. Conversely, can you see moderates or conservatives watching Olbermann? He’s an extension of Air America.
Comment by chrism — February 15, 2007 @ 7:20 pm
bigred, not to mention that Wednesday is usually Keith’s best night and he only managed third. Where oh where is the Speshul Komment?
Comment by Edward Schatz — February 15, 2007 @ 7:24 pm
I really do think that Nancy Grace does very well with the Anna Nicole Story. ISnt she still covering it? It seems as though Anna Nicole stories get good ratings, but drive people like me and Keith for that matter insane. 825,000 viewers is a very good night for Olbermann. Nancy Grance had an amazing night, but he took down Paula Zahn pretty good on this one.
Comment by Randy — February 15, 2007 @ 7:35 pm
#11..personally I know lots of moderates who don’t watch FNC, especially BOR but whatever. Of course I don’t expect conservatives and most moderates to watch KO( mind you so many here have opinions on his show they must)but as I said in another post..there is more out there than Countdown.
Comment by myview — February 15, 2007 @ 7:38 pm
Terance: Love your analytical skills. H&C still beat LKL by more than 2:1.
And to prove that the Fox audience isn’t as stupid as some here claim, O’Reilly had a boxcar night with only one Anna Nicole Smith segment!
Comment by Ira — February 15, 2007 @ 8:19 pm
bigred, not to mention that Wednesday is usually Keith’s best night and he only managed third.
Take another look at that number. 800,000 for Olbermann is nothing to sneeze at. It finished third because Nancy Grace is hot right now because of Anna Nicole. As soon as that story peters out Nancy will be back to fourth again.
Comment by Spud — February 15, 2007 @ 8:51 pm
Smith’s death has been a huge shot in the arm of Nancy Grace’s program. People have forgotten her incident with the mother who committed suicide after appearing on her show. Once the Smith thing is over, we’ll see her fade into obscurity… until the next white woman disappears.
Look at what the Smith death has done for Rita Cosby’s career?
Olbermann has covered the Smith death for about 5 to 10 minutes. I doubt we’ll get much more than that anytime soon. Also, I think that story will die quickly because it is getting beyond ghoulish.
Comment by Keyser Soze — February 15, 2007 @ 9:06 pm
Spud, you are correct in that it is an impressive number for Olbermann (even though Wednesday is his best night), but given how everyone else’s ratings have inflated, why haven’t Olby’s? And you seem to be implying that Keith is going go back to second which is hardly a sure thing. He’s not a surefire second place finish.
Comment by Edward Schatz — February 15, 2007 @ 10:46 pm
again, in the demo KO not only beat Paula, but every one of
CNN’s prime time shows.
Comment by Keith — February 15, 2007 @ 11:16 pm
Terance: I’ll add that last night “American Idol” aired at 9pm ET in most of the USA. That is the primary reason why H&C lost much of the BOR lead-in audience.
Comment by Ira — February 15, 2007 @ 11:18 pm
It’s all in the format for fnc. Ailes knows the audience wants confrontation, screaming ,debating and loves to hear about how bad anyone else but them is bad for america. Too bad alot of people get mis-informed, not informed, and remains ingnorant about the news of the day after viewing.

I hate to sound stupid, but is “boxcar night” an insider term?

[-_-] o O zZzZzZz
Another day, same tired whining.
Comment by Lurker — February 16, 2007 @ 12:24 am
With MSDNC hysterically announcing the continuation of Meltdown and its abysmal ratings, they evidently have been taking advice from the bankrupt Air (anti) America on how not to run a business.
Comment by Tom — February 16, 2007 @ 1:18 am
Ira, thanks for clarifying what you meant because all the smoke from your tires had me confused. I couldn’t quite figure out what H&C beating LKL (which is sort of automatic) has to do with H&C losing tons of BO’s viewers night after night.
Comment by Terance — February 16, 2007 @ 8:55 am
Jeezaloo! BOR ~ 3 million viewers, wow!
If Countdown according to MSNBC is one of the most popular cable shows, then what in the world is Fox’s behemoth?
Amazing BO!
