February Numbers: A big gain for On The Record…
The Anna Nicole Smith saga was a ratings winner for On The Record with Greta Van Susteren. The program had a big month - up 48% over last year in the Demo – the largest increase at 10 pm and the largest increase among all the primetime cable news programs. On The Record wound up at #2 in the Demo for all of cable news, behind only Bill O’Reilly. The show ranked #3 in cable news in Total Viewers….
what a pathetic way to gain viewers by covering a tabloid story. but then again her program has always been tabloid. btw, is nancy hollaway still missin?

In all honesty, “On the Record” is primarily the network’s program for crime story coverage and obviously it gains ratings when a large story hits the airwaves about crime.
If anything, the program still has a weakness when none of these crime stories are excessive on the airways, though it does keep a moderate hold over AC

This is not unique to Greta or Fox. If you look at the numbers in another story here, Larry King on CNN grew his audience in this demo by almost half as well, 48%.

I don’t watch Greta no matter what she does. I care more about real News like a war we are fighting! Anna Nicole is just media hype. Cared only the first day cuase she passed away then it was well not that important. Britney is more of Celebrity News and for that I watch ET or E! or Access Hollywood.

P.S. If I really cared about Anna Nicole I would watch Court TV during day or record it and nobody is better on Court TV than Catherine Crier. Used to watch a lot of Court TV back when a real crime story occurred and that the BTK serial Killer.

I guess the rest of the Country is luckier than us here on the left coast!. We are FORCED to watch three repeats a night of Greta’s latest obsession, together with three H&C and three BOR! They cut out all the interesting programs! I think FNC hates the left coast!
