Ingraham vs. O’Reilly?

The Post-Chronicle’s Michael J. Gaynor notes Laura Ingraham’s attack on Bill O’Reilly; managing to throw a sharp elbow at Keith Olbermann in the process…though it’s not clear exactly what Gaynor is referring to. Perhaps this?

“The Czarina” did what MSNBC competitor Keith Olbermann has tried so hard to do for years, without success: expose Mr. O’Reilly as part of the problem and reduce him to silence.

Since “the Czarina” has not been back on “The Factor” since, there are questions as to how big a man Mr. O’Reilly really is and how long it will take for him to acknowledge, privately and publicly, that “the Czarina” made use of “the no spin zone” to tell him an important truth to which he apparently had been oblivious and thank her for doing it!

  2. She’s got a good point, and FNC would do well to listen to her. Although Cavuto is probably the worst offender, as his viewers point out to him daily!

Once that’s settled, make Laura permanent substitute host of The Factor or give her her own program. She’s great.

  3. Forgive me, but what happened? I remember a few weeks ago Laura mentioned an incident regarding Bill O’Reilly and The Factor, but I never heard details. Can someone fill me in?

  4. Let’s see.

Whatever happened was three weeks ago. Since then O’Reilly spent one week in LA and Ingraham has also been broadcasting from the road.

  5. Olivia, Laura was just telling O’Reilly that he and Fox didn’t need to shown sleezy pictures in the background whenever they covered any type of sex-related story. She’s right, of course, and just told him very directly that this was not necessary and just brought the network down.

They’d do well to listen to her. And then they should sign her up in some capacity - there are many programs on FNC that need someone with her direct approach.

  8. O’Reilly likes to appeal to the two-faced nature of his audience.

  10. Wellm sad to say, remember who’s the “big boss” of both FOX, Fox News, and the NY Post. Rupert Murdoch: a meister of low-borw tastes. I always watch FNC and I do read the Post; but you can see the influence at times of the “Shady Oz”.

  11. I wonder if Laura will get to do another stint as host of the O’Reilly Factor? Perhaps Bill will take the criticism constructively. Stranger things have happened.

  12. Don’t mind it when Cavuto or Gibby do it, at least they’re honest about it. It’s O’Reilly’s faux high-mindedness that ticks me off. Serious news stories don’t require tata shots on B-roll.
