Wonderful pick-up by Fox. Harold Ford Jr. is great on television, as is Rick Santorum by the way. I think FOX had a great week picking up analysts as they gear up for their political coverage.

I was always disappointed when FNC let J.C. Watts get away.
CNN snapped him up in a hurry. Perhaps FNC learned from this mistake.
J.C. and Harold Ford are bright young men who happen to be black.
I like them both.

I’m no Dem by a long shot but this guy is aiming at the White House for 2012 or 16 depending on the chip fall. He’s another one of “those” who are clean, articulate and stylin. FNC is in on the ground floor.

Me, should there just be no discussion of the news?

What’s your idea of “news”? Having a producer write all the stories, have one anchor sit there and read the producer’s writing, verbatim, and just accept that person’s view of the story? Why would we want to have discussions about the news? God forbid, we might learn something. Or maybe be offered a valid viewpoint that no one else might have thought of.

Yes, it would be much better if they had someone with no actual experience or credibility, just book smarts, tell me what to think. I’d much rather receive a lecture from a pretty face and a good voice, than a discussion or debate from experts.

If only they talked about news and current events… and not gumdrops and castles in the clouds. Duuuuuuh.

FNC should just call themselves the political entertainment channel. No wonder its operating budget is so small…have an anchor to throw out a headline, bring on two ‘contributers’ and bam…you have a ’story’. Too bad they just can’t report the news huh?

Ira — Well said! Fox is by far the network that gives both sides so the viewer can decide for themselves. That is a hard concept for many people who have just followed what the MSM has feed them most of their lives.

i am glad they signed Harold Ford because I believe everytime they give him air time he will make fools out of the fox anchors and hosts much the way Wesley Clark does everytime he is on the air. They never many any sence against Clark and I believe Ford will take them to task. I remember some years back when Ford took ED hill and her friends to task over some remarks they made about Kerry. He left them gasping for air.

Yea, Harold tried to blame racism for his defeat in Tennessee, but it was his family’s notorious reputation for corruption that sank him in the state. There’s always a Ford under investigation at any given time in the volunteer state.

I’m really disappointed to hear this. The Ford family as a whole has a very shady background. I think there are 3 currently under indictments or under FBI investigation. That’s why JR lost in Tennessee…

Signing Harold Ford does not make Fox News more balanced. He’s exactly the kind of Democrat they love. One who undermines his own party and runs on a Republican-lite agenda. The Tennessee Senate seat is one that the Dems should have picked up. It was an open seat (which are always much easier to pick up than defeating an incumbent) and Bob Corker was not the best candidate. It was one of the Dems only letdowns in ‘06 and Harold Ford’s “I’m gonna out-Republican a Republican” crap is at fault.

Fox can keep Ford and LIEberman (even though he’s not really a Dem any longer, his party is officially Connecticut for Lieberman!).
