Tom DeLay to CNN?
The Wall Street Journal’s John Fund scoops that Tom DeLay is going to join CNN as a contributor. (via TVNewser)
UPDATE: TVNewser now has a CNN rep shooting down the story…

Interesting. In all respects, the one thing I find interesting when a network adds a past representative to their network’s group of contributors is that, in all respects, how can they truly give insight into a political party when they were voted out by the people and may not have been part of the party in legislative ways for at least a few months, let alone years or even more.

What’s really notable about this is that if this were Fox News, there would be an avalanche of negative criticism over the move. Personally, I would think that CNN would be wise to not choose someone with so many dark clouds over his head, but he will provide “insider knowledge” of the political machine.

Ironically, if this were Fox News there would be an outpouring of negative criticism. It will be interesting if the blogs and such will hold CNN to the same standard.
