Ch-ch-ch-changes…

Yesterday, new sets debuted on Hannity & Colmes and Your World with Neil Cavuto. The reason for these changes came about because those programs were moved temporarily out of Studio D so that Fox could launch the Mike & Juliet show. Because the Mike & Juliet show set is so elaborate the entire studio had to be reworked to allow for faster turnaround for the FNC programs that would normally share the space with Mike & Juliet. Live Desk with Martha MacCallum will be moving there next week.

ICN has heard that new studios are being built at FNC. Some of these will more than likely house the new Fox Business Channel.

  1. I was looking at the new set on TVN….. Did somebody get “happy” with the purple?? YIKES!

  2. I think the new H&C set looks like crap. The set was really bright and the triple flat panels in the back looked amateurish to me, like some local tv station in the boonies. Also why was I thinking Half Hour News Hour? I think they had a similar look?

  3. The set looks nice… except that purple ‘’wall'’ with those screens in it, in the mid of Sean and Alan… If they would remove that… the set would be acceptable.

  4. I think the set looked fine, except for the creature on the right hand side of the set, wearing glasses, who always interrupted when the conservative was talking. The program and its appearance would be much improved if said creature were removed!

  5. Obviously not used to the wider screen shots, I noticed that Hannity was caught on camera looking down at his notes.

  8. Have Brit and Megyn ‘christened’ it yet?

  9. Missy, I think the show would be much better if the man on the left who always interrupts liberal guests who disagree with him and tries to talk over them would be gone. The show would look alot better and the format would be a touch calmer.

  10. #2… That would perhaps be in part because the Half-Hour News Hour is taped in the same studio. (But perhaps the similarities end there, I dunno.)

Studio D is FNC’s biggest, most spacious studio. It’s helped free up a lot of shows from Studio B and from the cramped Studio A. Studio C has always been under-used, until about a year or two ago when it was completely re-designed (to accomodate the Journal Business Report). Since then it has been used more and more by the channel.

More studios used for FNC, not just FBC, will help at least mantain more variety. While I’m sure not everyone is as geeky as me (I can identify the studio name within a second or two of seeing it on screen….), they really do not have too many studios. And if one goes under construction for renovation, then everyone becomes really cramped in there.

  11. Charles, it really looks to me that the HHNH was taped off-site somewhere. Studio D is relatively large, but nowhere near as large as the place where those pilot episodes took place. That studio audience looked way too huge to fit in that space where the cramped DaySide (and now M&J) audience sat.
